Phase 1 of the initiative includes the design of the southside fiber ring, which was recently approved by the five largest southside cities. Future phases of this effort will connect the Peninsula localities, creating a regional “fiber highway” network throughout Hampton Roads that will allow users to access to the ultra-fast global service coming from these transatlantic cables at an affordable cost.
