Wyland Pasta Dinner Volunteer Form
Dear Fifth Grade Parents,
The annual Pasta Dinner, hosted by the 5th grade, is quickly approaching. The date for the Pasta Dinner will be
Tuesday, March 26th, 2019 from 4:30pm – 7:00pm. As in years past, the fifth grade students are invited to be
servers and hosts. Proceeds from the dinner go to the PTO budget. All tips donated, as well as all proceeds of the
bake sale go toward the fifth grade trip in the Spring to Fun Fore All.
Your child may select to be a server or host/hostess. The servers will be paired in teams of two. There will be
adult volunteers supervising. Additionally, this year we will have Wyland Alumni, currently attending Hampton
Middle School, training and assisting the 5th graders. The 5th grade student volunteers eat for free. They can
choose to eat with their family or with their classmates before/after their shift.
Please make time in your busy schedule and encourage your child to volunteer. Not only is this a fun evening for
the kids but it is their chance to ‘Pay it Forward’ to the school that has given them so much over the years. Please
complete the form below and return to their teacher by Friday, March 15th. We will make every effort to
accommodate requests, but we ask for understanding and flexibility if there is a high demand for a certain position
and/or shift. You will also notice we are asking for parent volunteers. We need a lot of hands on deck to make this
evening successful! We need behind the scenes help before the event as well as help the day of.
Please note, there will be a MANDATORY training session for all student volunteers on March 25th 3:30-4:30.
If you have any questions, please contact Jen Rothenberg @ [email protected]

Passion for Pandas
I am Simon, from Second Grade.
I am helping save Giant Pandas. Did you know that there are only 1864
pandas left in the wild and 160 in zoos? That is only 2,024 left in the
world! I have a passion for pandas and want to do something to help them.
In order to raise money I am selling short-sleeve T-shirts for $6. 90% of the
profits will be donated to WWF (World Wildlife Fund) and 10% will be
donated to Wyland’s Studio. You can see the T-shirts in the art room. If
you would like to help me save the pandas, please return the attached
order form by Thursday, March 14th. The T-shirts will be delivered by the
middle of April.
Please see order form below.
Please return forms to Mrs. Greer (Forms due by March 14)

BAIERL FAMILY YMCA
YMCA of GREATER PITTSBURGH
At the Y, we believe the values and skills learned early on are vital building blocks for quality of life and future success. That’s why our before and after-school programs are staffed with people who understand the cognitive, physical and social development of kids, the need children have to feel connected and supported in trying new things and the caring and reinforcement parents and families need to help each other. At the Y, school-age kids make friends, play and have fun, learn new skills and get help with their homework. Most importantly, they learn how to be their best selves. That makes for confident kids today, and contributing and engaged adults tomorrow.
