Show Rules

AQHA and Burpengary Western Performance Club Inc. rules apply, and Judges decision is final.

For all Registered Horses - A copy of your Association membership/Amateur cards and horse registration papers must be sent with nominations.

1. LIABILITY: BWPC Inc. will take no responsibility for any loss, damage or theft to any persons/horses, vehicles or property while at these shows. All competitors compete at their own risk.

2. Youth classes 18 years of age and under and must have parent/guardian signed consent.

3. BEGINNER: Is a Rider who has won no more than 5 wins with 1 or more horses. Horses can be ridden in a snaffle bit or a curb bit (two handed). Beginners may not compete in open or novice or amateur classes. BEGINNER Youth must wear an approved helmet with harness strap and are not permitted to compete on 2 or 3-year-old horses. Youth cannot handle or compete with a stallion or colt Stallions may not compete in Beginner

4. IMPROVER is a rider that has progressed from Beginners any queries contact BWPC Committee

5. OPEN is a rider that has progressed from Improvers any queries contact BWPC Committee

6. Stallions may not compete in Beginner

7. ALL Select, Master, Novice Youth and Novice Amateur Classes and Amateur: Must hold AQHA or other breed society relevant Card.

8. Ranch Riding horses are not permitted to compete in any Western Pleasure classes and Pleasure horse can not compete in Ranch Riding at same show

9. In case of Hendra or EI virus outbreak the Burpengary Western Performance Club will not be responsible for any costs incurred or monies lost by an outbreak of Hendra or EI to a competitor, spectator or volunteer.

10. Failure to abide by AQHA, HSAA BWPC rules & DPI&F Bio Security & BWPC Bio Security rules MAY result in instant disqualification from all shows and forfeiture of any monies paid or owing to the competitor.

11. ALL DOGS TO BE ON LEASH AT ALL TIMES (regardless of size).

12. Refund Policy

a. If the show is cancelled - full refund/credit will be given excluding admin fees

b. If the show is postponed, you must advise the club within 7 days of receiving notice to receive a full refund/credit excluding admin fees

13. REFUNDS: Definitely no refunds after closing date unless accompanied by a current Medical or Vet Certificate. Nomination refunds/credits excluding $10 admin fee, will only be given when show secretary receives appropriate certificates i.e. vet certificate or doctor’s certificate wi thin 7 days of the event being held.

14. At all AQHA approved shows, on each day of the show, 1 hour prior to the commencement of the show and 1 hour after the cessation of the show, there will be no training equipment allowed in the immediate marshalling area and the performance arena and dress regulations of Cap/Hat, l ong western style pants, safe enclosed footwear and a shirt with sleeves must be worn

15. No alcohol is allowed in, or can be consumed in the marshalling areas, working arenas or show pen/contest areas.

16. Exhibitors shall not approach the judge for any reason prior to completion of the judging, unless the exhibitor has finished exhibiting and the request must be made through the Ring Steward.

17. No exhibitor will request information from the Judge, or the decisions made by that Judge, concerning any exhibit at a show, on the day of the show or within the immediate 7 days following the show.

18. Competitors/participants at any event run by Burpengary Western Performance Club Inc have a responsibility to ensure the welfare of their horses and at all

times to treat their horses humanely and with dignity, respect and compassion. Competitors/participants are to conduct themselves in a professional manner and act

with integrity in all dealings with the Affiliate and other competitors. To uphold the rules and regulations of the BWPC Inc at all times. Competitors/participants are to demonstrate good sportsmanship at all times, showing respect for your fellow competitors and officials, following the rules.

19. All youth competing or taking part in an approved event, must have written permission from their parent/guardian to be at that event as a contestant or participant and in the case of a contest, the parent/guardian must also sign the entry form. All youth competing or taking part in an approved event, must be in the care of a responsible adult who is in attendance for the duration of that event, whilst the youth is in attendance at that event. Spectators or exhibitors must not approach the judge during the show. If there is a problem/enquiry this should be directed to the Show Secretary

have not shown signs of illness during the last 3 days leading up to entering the BWPC Event at the BEC GROUNDS. I give my authorisation for the

designated steward to call for veterinary inspection of this/these horse/s in my care should they be showing signs of illness at any time during the

course of the event. I agree to pay any veterinary fees for the horse/s described incurred as a result of this.

I AGREE TO ENSURE THE FOLLOWING:

1. If required before movement, all horses will be shampooed, rinsed and allowed to dry, and their hooves will be picked clean of all solid material and washed.

2. All vehicles and equipment accompanying the horse/s will be in clean condition at the start of travel to the BWPC Event.

3. All horses travelling from the cattle tick infected areas must be accompanied by the appropriate Biosecurity QLD permits.

4. In the event of horse movement restrictions, I will be responsible for the care, maintenance, and cost of my horse/s including feeding and watering.

5. All horses described are free of cattle ticks before entering BWPC Event

6. I acknowledge that failure to comply with the above may result in refusal of entry to the BWPC event
