FROM THE POTENTATE’S DESK
It can’t be October already! Where has the year gone? I guess
it’s true, “time flies when you’re having fun!” September sure
was a busy month. If you didn’t make it to MASA you really
missed out. We had so much fun! The Thursday night party
was over the “BIG” Top. The prize giveaways were great. The
fellowship shared poolside, was such a treat, I learned a lot
about our Ali Ghan nobles. They are the best around! The car
and motorcycle show was excellent. Thank you to Ed and Sue
Richards for hosting that event. Your hard work really paid
off. Special thanks to the Ali Ghan Golf Outing Committee
for another spectacular event. It earned a lot of money for
the Temple. For those that don’t know, it is our largest fund-
raiser each year. Thank you to the Railroad Unit and espe-
cially Brad Butler. The Octoberfest was a true lesson in Ger-
man beer, and the food was great too. Fun was had by all. We
have several big parades coming up, such as Autumn Glory
Parade in Oakland on October 15, with the Harige Unit spon-
soring the Hospitality room afterwards. The Cumberland
Night Parade is next, with the date to be announced. The
Mummers parade on October 29 finishes out the year. There
will be a Halloween costume party in the Ball Room on Octo-
ber 28TH. Aaron Brotemarkle will be decorating so I’m sure it
will be spooktacular. Thank you so much for all the hard
work. You have made my year as Potentate such a rewarding
experience. We couldn’t have done it without you.

Notice of Temple Meeting
The regularly stated session of Ali Ghan will be held on Fri-
day, November 18, 2016 at 8:00pm in the main Ballroom of
the Ali Ghan Temple.
Imperial Bylaws require that to gain admission to the meet-
ing a noble must be in good standing and present his cur-
rent, paid dues card at the door.
Ali Ghan’s next birthday dinner will
be on November 18, 2016.
Social hour is at 5:30 and dinner will
be served at 6:30 p.m.
If you’re a Noble who’s birthday was
in the last quarter your dinner is free.
Otherwise, dinner is $15 per person.

Ali Ghan Desert Legion Red Fez for Oct. 2016
Our meeting was held Monday October 10th at 7:30 PM at our Club House. Our discussion at meeting was on how MASA went and how we can get more to go.
MASA 2016: 5 Nobles and their wives attend-ed from our Desert Le-gion Unit!
Our next Famous Roast Beef Dinner. Will be on Monday Oc-tober 24th. The fellowship is GREAT! & our ladies desserts was better than ever! We have almost 100 meals to
serve and will never ran out!!!! This year’s dinners left are: November 28th. Starting 5 pm till 7.
Our sick and distress: Noble Ron Straw’s wife Carol, had her complete knee replacement done on Sept. 12th doing GREAT!

Attention Directors staff ladies and friends
We will be meeting and eating at the Club while the guys are having their dinner meetings. We want to support our new cater-er, “Noble Catering.” Most of us have been dining at the club and the food has been wonderful. There is an extensive new menu that should be pleasing to everyone. See you there at 6:00pm on Thursday, October 13th.

A note to let all Railroad Unit Members know that the 2017
Lucky number calendars are in the unit building and are ready
to be picked up and sell. These calendars make awesome Christ-
mas gifts for friends and relatives so stop down and pick some
up. For more information or how to get a calendar call the Tem-
ple office at 301-722-5970. We publish the winners monthly in
the Red Fez.
Our next spaghetti dinner is October 3rd, hope to see you for
dinner.
On a more serious note, our thoughts and prayers go out to No-
ble and fellow Railroad Unit member, Harry Hartman as I just
received information that Harry has had emergency surgery
yesterday but no information on the results of the sur-
gery. Again we hope and pray for Harry to have a quick recov-
ery.
Our next Railroad unit meeting is on Oct. 6th, at 7pm.
