I invite all of you to join us Thursday evening to see the children come through in their costumes from the comfort of the senior center. If you have a hat, or wig, or costume, feel free to wear it, and bring your goodies to hand out! It will be a fun evening. Plan to come early as most will come through right around 6:30, and depending on the weather, I think all will be through by 8:30. Tuesday November 5 th , Farm Bureau will be at the center over the noon hour to share with you all information about their new health plans, including Medicare supplement plans, family, and individual plans. You do NOT need to be a current Farm Bureau member to get a health plan. They will be here to answer any questions after the presentation as well. Tuesday November 12th, we will be hosting Bingo for the long term care residents! I invite you to come and enjoy this outing with them! We will start at 1 o’clock. We have two board member terms ending this year that will need to be filled. The board meets for about 2 hours each month, and plans around 2 fundraisers each year. If you think you might be interested, please stop by the senior center and see what being a board member entails! See you soon. He was born on September 6, 1936, at Wichita, the son of Houston Gerald and Juanita Velvet (Roby) Price, Sr. He married Donna Jean Armstrong on April 27, 1958 at Sharon Springs. Gerald moved with his family to Tribune when he was five. The family moved to Poteau, Oklahoma, for a couple of years before returning to Tribune where he attended Greeley County Grade School and graduated from Wallace County High School. He attended Garden City Community College and then joined his father on the family farm where they raised crops along with cattle and sheep. While continuing to work on the farm he worked for 19 years with the Greeley County National Resource Conservation Service. He was a Charter Member of the Tribune Baptist Church, Elks Lodge of Goodland and Greeley County Historical Society Board of Directors. He enjoyed playing cards of any kind, especially pinochle, poker and black jack. He was a member of Pitch Team that competed in Kansas and Oklahoma tournaments. He also enjoyed listening to Willie Nelson and watching Westerns but especially his family activities. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister - Billie Jean Williams, son- in-law - Brent Kinlund, three grandchildren - Joey Cagle, Spencer Cundiff and Noah Cundiff and one great- grandson- Elijah Cundiff. He is survived by his wife- Donna Price, four daughters- Judy Kinlund of Raton, New Mexico, Susan and Brad Sisk of Holcomb, Peggy and Abby Munoz of Garden City, and Stacy and Randy Cundiff of Garden City, nine grandchildren- Jesse Cagle, Miles Cagle, Kris Sisk,Amber and Steven Sonnenberg, Brandi Sisk, Kelsi and Matt Johnston, Kayla Munoz, Cody and Heidi Cundiff and Cayden Cundiff and nine great-grandchildren- Katelynne Sisk, Gerald Sisk, Isaac Sonnenberg, Ronan Sonnenberg, Karter Johnston, Mace Johnston, Judah Cundiff, Demi Jo Cundiff and Ava Cundiff. Celebration of Life will be on Saturday, November 2 at 11:00 AM at Garden Valley Church, 1701 North 3rd in Garden City with Pastor Steve Ensz officiating. Houston Gerald PriceTribune - Houston Gerald
