Haunted House

The haunted house is fifth from one end of the street

and thirteenth from the other end of the street. How

many houses are in the street?

Witches’ Hats

Gilda has 5 more hats than Zelda.

Together they have 17 hats.

How many hats does Gilda have?


Ghost Race

Casper, Spooky, Patchy and Boo are in a race.

Casper finished just behind Boo.

Patchy finished in front of Spooky.

Spooky was in front of Boo.

In what order did they finish the race?

Frankie’s Shirts

Frankenstein has 15 shirts in his wardrobe.

They are all black or blue. He has 7 more black shirts

than blue ones. How many blue shirts does he have?


Cats and Owls

Zelda the witch has all of her cats and all of her owls

in the house.

She has 9 animals in the house and they have 30 legs

altogether.

How many cats and how many owls does she have?

Wendy’s Pets

Wendy the witch is allowed to have only 2 pets and

she wants to have 2 different types of animal.

Wendy can choose from a cat, a bat, a rat, an owl and

a spider.

How many different pet combinations could she

choose from?

Frankenstein’s Favorite Numbers

Frankenstein has several favorite numbers. Read the clues to work out what they are.

� Each one is between 200 and 500.

� The sum of the digits is 11. � The middle digit is always an odd number but the other digits are even numbers.

Make a list of Frankenstein’s favorite numbers.

Who Has the Most?

Four friends have all been out ‘Trick or Treating’.

Kiara has more candy than Sean but not as much as

Chloe. Rhys has more than Chloe.

List the four friends in order from who has the least

candy to who has the most.


Dracula’s Favorite Numbers

Dracula has several favorite numbers. Read the clues to work out what they are.

Our Halloween friends are playing with numbers.

Each of them has thought of a number, multiplied it by

2, added 7 and then divided it by 3.

Mummy ended up with 9.

Dracula ended up with 15.

Frankenstein ended up with 33.

What numbers did each of them start with?

Invitations

Dracula, Frankenstein, Mummy, Gilda and Zelda are

all having a Halloween party. Each of them has given

an invitation to all of the others. How many

invitations have been given out?
