Case Study: U.S. Army Recruiting Command Challenge

The U.S. Army Recruiting Command (USAREC) Cyber Recruiting Center needed a scalable communications and data management strategy to better engage future soldiers and manage relationships with Army recruits.

Solution

− Implemented a comprehensive multi-channel communication strategy for contact center management

− Developed and deployed a social media and communications strategy including Facebook, Twitter, and an online community portal to better recruit prospects and retain future soldiers

− Integrated commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) and open source technologies to leverage cost savings and increase efficiencies

− Applied agile process principles in providing solutions for the client

− Increased efficiencies and effectiveness of USAREC’s strategic communications strategy and their overall recruiting process

− The Army Future Soldier Center Facebook page, created as a pilot in October 2009, has 46,693 fans and continue to increase at least 2% weekly

− Assisted the Lead Refinement Center with increasing its conversion rate of leads to appointments with recruiters from 23.5% in 2007 to 33.37% in 2009

Case Study: U.S. Army Office of Small Business ProgramsChallengeThe Army Office of Small Business Programs (OSBP) needed a full-scale program management solution and communications strategy to assist them with accomplishing their mission of ensuring small businesses have the necessary knowledge and resources to support the Warfighter.

Solution

− Prepared and implemented a detailed work plan with time lines and deliverables including planning, scope, risk analysis, resource allocation, and cost controls

− Developed and implemented a comprehensive communications strategy leveraging innovative social media and outreach tools

− Planned and executed national conferences and training events focused on educating small businesses on procurement opportunities and assist them with increasing their ability to respond to the Army’s needs

− Incorporated cutting-edge open source technologies such as Drupal, social media platforms, and CRM tools

− Leveraged an agile methodology based on the PMBOK model for managing the overall program and experienced less than 1% schedule and cost variances while supporting the Army OSBP
