Principal, Dr.S.A.Sajid, had the coveted privilege of

officiating as the One-Man Inspection Commission

to consider the request of Islamiah College

(Autonomous), Vaniyambadi, to grant continuation

of provisional affiliation to III B.Com., as an

Additional Section under Un-Aided Pattern for the

Academic Year 2018-2019. He had verified all

necessary details available in the college for the said Course of study and

strongly recommended to the University to grant continuation of

affiliation to the Course cited above as he was satisfied with the

infrastructural facilities on the campus to continue the Course of Study.

Thiruvalluvar University had been kind enough to accord permission to

the college to increase 15% of Seats in Arts and Commerce like U.G.

History, B.Com. C.S., and B.B.A. and 10% of Seats in First Year U.G.

Science Courses namely Chemistry, Zoology and I M.Sc., Chemistry. The

Principal had the pleasure of expressing his grateful thanks to the

University for increasing Seats in the above said Courses to provide an

avenue to admit more number of students whose parents were anxious

about their Wards’ admission.

The College had successfully obtained provisional affiliation from

Thiruvalluvar University to start First Year B.Com., (Additional Section)

and First B.C.A., (Additional Section) as Self-Financing Courses. While

thanking the University for giving due consideration to the application

sent by the college for affiliation, the college would surely fulfil all usual

conditions of affiliation to get permanent affiliation as these Additional

Courses were obtained at the request of the parents who wished to

admit their Wards in these Courses and also to answer the heavy demand

for seats in these need-based Courses.

The College Volleyball Stars had the distinction of shining in the District-

Level Volleyball Tournament organized by the Sports Development

Authority of Tamil Nadu, Vellore Unit, by concluding the Tournament as

Runners-Up, that meant the Second Best of all the Teams that competed

for the Trophy. Principal, Dr.S.A.Sajid; Associate Director of Physical

Education, Dr.V.Raja, Staff and Students lavished high praise on the

Winners.

The Indira Gandhi National Open

University had been represented by

Courses in Information Technology and Business Skills. The response

from the student community was amazing and as many as 65 students

belonging to various Courses of Study were selected and given spot

admission. The Campaign was headed by the Principal, Dr.S.A.Sajid in the

immediate and distinguished presence of hon’ble Secretary &

Correspondent, Alijanab S.Z.Abrar Ahmed Saheb. The admission-

mechanism was monitored by Dr.H.Munavar Jan, Dr.M.P.Mohamed

Farook and Prof. A.Sakhoor Basha.

Dr.H.Munavar Jan had the pleasurable veneration of officiating as the

Guest of Honour at the Inaugural Function organized by the Alumni

Association of Govt. Arts & Science College, Dharmapuri, as part of the

staging of a Book Exhibition which registered thousands of visitors and

netted a record collection with the sale of thousands of books on various

themes. His Inaugural Address had been a splendid carnival of verbal

eminence and excellence.

Resource Person at a function brought up by Madrasa-

e-Dar-e-Imaan, Melvisharam, on the theme `Role of

The Independence Day had been a gala National Festival with Principal

Dr.S.A.Sajid hoisting the National Flag and inspecting the Guard of

Honour. The College NCC Officer, Dr.K.Jahir Hussain and the Cadets put

up a big show befitting the historical significance of the occasion. The

Day’s Celebration had witnessed keen interest evinced by the Staff and

Students. The playfield in front of the main building was beautified with

flower pots silhouted by a red carpet to receive the Principal and the NCC

Officer of the 10th Battalion, Vellore.

Very much moved by the horrifying scenes that were wrought by the

merciless floods which devastated Kerala, Senior Students of the college

had collected donations from students to the tune of Rs.18,500 which

had been handed over to the Village Administrative Officer, Vepoor, Kum.

Charumathi, by the Principal, towards Kerala Flood Relief Fund. As little

drops of rain make mighty oceans, such sums of money, however small or

negligible, will surely multiply themselves into huge sums when added to

the contributions made by others.

The Dept. of Tamil had organized State-Level Literary Competitions in

fond and reverential memory of Alijanab Alhaj S.M. Abdul Jameel Saheb

who left no stone unturned for the progress of Higher Education. As

many as 30 Students from 20 different Colleges competed for the Trophy

in the Oratorical Competition. The Judges for the Event included

spectacular Scholars namely Prof. U.Peer, Former Principal of the College;

Dr.K.Shanthi and Dr.Thamarai Selvi of D.K.M. College for Women, Vellore.

The Competition had been well organized under the Presidentship of the

Principal, Dr.S.A.Sajid and actively monitored by Dr.P. Mohammad Yusuf,

Dr.R. Prabhakaran, Dr. M.Thamim Mansoor and Dr. A.M.J.Rafeek Basha.

Hon’ble Secretary & Correspondent, Alijanab S.Z. Abrar Ahmed Saheb,

had been gracious enough to inaugurate the Online Section installed in

the Central Library to help the Staff, Researchers and Students to

download, free of cost, the subject material they need to update their

knowledge or to update the M.Phil., Dissertations or Ph.D., Theses. The

Four Computing Systems established in this Section are certainly a Manna

to the seekers of knowledge. This Section had been inaugurated in the

distinguished presence of the Principal, Dr. S.A. Sajid, Dr. H. Munavar Jan

and Dr. A.K. Ibrahim Sheriff and Dr. S. Shamsuddin. The College Librarian,

Dr. M.O. Mohamed Thaheer, had played a pivotal role in installing this

Section.
