New 14-16 Key Stage 4 Qualification Packages (including practical skills)

VTCT is offering a Key Stage 4 qualification package consisting of; AM20530 VTCT Level 2 Certificate in Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy (VRQ) plus one practical qualification from the new suite of foundation level practical qualifications, designed specifically for 14-16 year old learners, across the full spectrum of Hair & Beauty skills.

These qualifications provide the necessary foundations for those who wish to pursue a career in Hair & Beauty therapy by progressing to a full Level 2 qualification.

These qualifications range from Entry Level 3 to Level 2 and are graded pass, merit, distinction and distinction* (P/M/D/D*). These qualifications consist of entirely new units, which differentiate Hair & Beauty skills at each level.

Qualifications are the first of their kind and the levels are determined not only by the knowledge and skills included, but also by the context in which learners learn and are assessed. For example,

at Entry Level 3 learners will work on themselves

at Level 1 learners may work on blocks, peers or family members

at Level 2 learners may work on peers/family members and be introduced to working on clients.
