Practical details

• Rockstart is open for the weekend especially for #hack4good

• Use the bell by the front door to enter, wear name tag at all times

• Use of the co-working space, kitchen and ballroom is allowed during the full 72 hours

• Toilets & Smoking (garden strictly between 9:00 - 21:00) downstairs

• Upstairs & other spaces are strictly out of bounds and security will be checking during the night

• Wifi password is posted on the wall in co-working space, internet ports are available on 2 tables. Please ask me (Karin) if you have internet problems

Judging Rules

To enter the local and global judging processes:

!  Team must be between 2 and 6 members

!  Project must address one of the 15 Global Challenges

!  It can be in response to one of the Problem Statements from a challenge partner, or an idea that the team came up with

!  All code must have been written during the hackathon (i.e. no code written before 7pm local time on Friday 12th September 2014)

!  A project may build on previous existing projects, APIs and code libraries. It must be clear what was built during the hackathon.

!  There must be a project page created in the Geeklist Hackathon App

Judging Criteria

!  IMPACT (double-weighted) - how much potential does it have to make a significant contribution to addressing the specific climate problem it is aimed at?

!  FOUNDATIONS - is the project based on solid foundations of best available scientific, economic and behavioural knowledge and evidence?

!  PORTABILITY - to what extent can the project be replicated or adapted for different countries or regions to have a global impact?

!  DISTRIBUTION - is there a realistic route to delivering this project to those who need it? e.g. via an NGO partner or set of pilot users?

!  SUSTAINABILITY - is there a feasible model for ongoing development of the project and does the team show a strong desire to see the project through?

!  INNOVATION - how genuinely novel or creative is the approach? does the project do something not previously possible or available?
