Project descriptionThe Biopark Pereira is framed within the Development Plan "Pereira Region of Opportunities " of the current municipal administration, in whichthis project is considered a major project for the city of Pereira, as it strives to be a tourist attraction level not just regionally but nationally andinternationally, which will close and friendly interaction with native flora and fauna and exotic providing healthy recreation while promoting thepreservation of biodiversity.In Bioparque be plotted five bio-regions (four bio-regions: African Savanna, African Rainforest, Asian mangroves, South American Cliffs, and threebio-regions of Colombia: Andean Forest, Arid Caribbean and Amazon) Biodiversity is displayed as the result of adaptation of plants and animals todifferent environments. Human cultures of each of these regions are also highlighted as examples of the wide adaptability of human beings. Themain objective of the educational message in Bioparque is to show how the survival and welfare of living beings, both human and of animal andplant species depend on the knowledge of natural history and dynamics, and proper management their living conditions.The project aims to build a theme park in the sub-urban area of Pereira, Cerritos sector, which in addition to its tourism and recreation,contributes to the conservation of wildlife through education, research, and ecologically viable actions, economically viable and socially equitable.This project will be undertaken in order to meet the following subsidiary objectives:- Build a space for research and conservation of flora and fauna- Create a space for environmental education and recreation- Creating spaces for exotic and native animals that recreate as closely as possible their natural habitat in which they can move freely withappropriate security for people, applying the concept of immersing the visitor in the natural habitats of different species present in the Biopark- Convert a target Pereira Biopark tourism nationally and internationally- Leverage the tourism potential especially for the economic development of the people surrounding the project- Streamlining the job permanently in the town of PereiraThe main objective of the educational message in Bioparque is to show how the survival and welfare of living beings, both human and of animaland plant species depend on the knowledge of natural history and dynamics, and proper management their living conditionsThe Bioparque show the biological diversity of selected regions of the planet, and illustrate how each site have developed these cultures adaptedto local environments. The ultimate purpose is to motivate Bioparque conservation of biodiversity at both global and local and motivate humanbehavior that allows a harmonious life on the planet.

The Biopark shows how the survival and welfare of living beings, depend on knowledge of natural history and dynamics, and proper managementof environmental conditions , following this principle each of the buildings have an study of sunlight, natural ventilation, material handling, etc.The proposed urban and landscape due to an organic conception, therefore, routes and spaces are integrated into the natural environment, allthese principles are easily applicable to any architectural project

The project generated a planned development for the area, searching individual and community Improvement of living conditions (education,employment, housing). The philosophy of community inclusion presenting the project will create educational projects with the aim ofempowering people in the region and create a supply of labor that benefits the community during construction and operation of the park;surrounding community will benefit most from the program as a measure of compensation to the statement made by the project to thiscommunity. Educational institutions: UTP and SENA offers scholarship aimed exclusively at Biopark surrounding community on issues related tothe construction and training of tourist guides.The project will be an improvement in the sector with the development of access roads, service infrastructure, beautification of the area,reduction of environmental pollution, improved public transport and the presence of authorities minimizing the problem of insecurity.

Cerritos sector, where the project is located Bioparque is an area with high human intervention where deforestation of native forests has been aconstant practice to implement farming systems and consolidate the expansion area of the city of Pereira.The Biopark generate a reforestationproject on the area which contributes to the protection of rivers and improving air and water quality, restore tree cover to stabilize soils, reducewater and wind erosion, restoration of the hydrological cycle.
