INTRODUCTION: H1N1 virus is an update disease , there is a

lot of research about it , so there is a several differences on it

The incidence of H1N1 :A total of 138 cases were reported from the Fields. 85 from Gaza with incidence rate of

7.1 per 100,000 population and and 54 from West Bank, with incidence of 4.5 per 100,000

population and none from Jordan, Lebanon and Syria. Further analysis revealed that 55% were males and 45% were females; the most

affected age group was above 40 years at 58%. Only 8 cases were confirmed at West Bank, they were admitted to hospitals with accompanied morbidities such as diabetes and immune compromised 2014conditions .

DEFINITION

Is a respiratory disease of pigs caused by type A influenza , it also called swine flu ,

hog flu and pig flu  many of the genes in this new virus were

very similar to influenza viruses that normally occur in pigs in North America .

H1N1 flu is spread from person to person, it is not clear how easily the virus is able to spread among people. a vaccine is under

development for the H1N1.

H1N1 influenza viruses dose not spread by food . You can not get swine influenza from

eating pork or pork products . Eating cooked pork products is safe

ASSESSMENT AND DIAGNOSIS

Physical exam.Real-time reverse-transcriptase polymerase

chain reaction (rRT-PCR) is the most accurate method in detecting influenza A (H1N1) virus

infection in respiratory specimensChest x-ray T lymphocytes subgroups could be

considered as progressive markers of H1N1, which were of great clinical significance in

early diagnosis, progression, and prognosis evaluation of H1N1.

MEDICAL MANAGEMENT

Most cases of flu, including H1N1 flu, require only symptom relief

The antiviral drugs: oseltamivir (Tamiflu)75mg po

12h for 5 days,2weeks , not 4 common ,cold , pregnancy& lactation , with food,

warning ,convulsion ,hallucination ,

Page 11: H1N1 presentation

zanamivir (Relenza)It does this by blocking the action of

neuraminidase, an enzyme produced by the viruses that enables the viruses to spread from

infected cells to healthy cells.Headache,nusea,vomitng,dizzenes,bronchospa

sm2 inh. Q12h for 5days

Don’t mix with any type of liqiud
