Laudetur Jesus Christus! Gelobt sei Jesus Christus! Sia lodato Gesù Cristo! Praised be Jesus Christ!

Thank you to those who assisted in anyway with Bible Camp. Your help is truly appreciated as we seek to hand on the Faith to our future generations. Without everyone's assistance and working together at

home, in the Church, in the world, this would not be pos-sible. Thank you! As we enter into our summer slow down, we will begin a series of meditations from St. Francis de Sales on the Spiritual Life. St. Francis was the Bishop of Geneva, and the founder of an Oratory in Switzerland. As a spiritual son of St. Philip Neri, St. Francis de Sales has put into writing what St. Philip was unwilling to do during his life; and has now given life to the Spiritual Life promoted by St. Philip. These selections will be taken from his book "The Introduc-tion to the Devout Life" this is a spiritual classic much loved by generations of Catholics. Please find a reflection on the Sacrament of Penance. Have a blessed week ahead!

Our Savior has bequeathed the Sacrament of Penitence and Confession to His Church,in order that therein we may be cleansed from all our sins, however and whenever we may have been soiled thereby. Therefore, my child, never allow your heart to abide heavy with sin, seeing that there is so sure and safe a remedy at hand. If the lioness

has been in the neighborhood of other beasts she hastens to wash away their scent, lest it should be displeasing to her lord; and so the soul which has ever so little consented to sin, ought to abhor itself and make haste to seek purifica-tion, out of respect to His Divine Gaze Who beholds it always. Why should we die a spiritual death when there is a sovereign remedy available? Make your confession humbly and devoutly every week, and always, if you can, before communicating, even although your conscience is not burdened with mortal sin; for in confession you do not only receive absolution for your venial sins, but you also receive great strength to help you in avoiding them henceforth, clearer light to discover your failings, and abundant grace to make up whatever loss you have incurred through those faults. You exercise the graces of humility, obedience, simplicity and love, and by this one act of confession you practise more virtue than in any other. Be sure always to entertain a hearty sorrow for the sins you confess, however small they are; as also a steadfast resolution to correct them in future. Some people go on confessing venial sins out of mere habit, and conventionally, without making any effort to correct them, thereby losing a great deal of spiritual good. Sup-posing that you confess having said something untrue, although without evil consequences, or some careless words, or excessive amusement;-- repent, and make a firm resolution of amendment: it is a mere abuse to confess any sin whatever, be it mortal or venial, with-out intending to put it altogether away, that being the express object of confession. - St. Francis de Sales

7:00 p.m. Sunday Mass - July 23 The 7:00 p.m. Mass on Sunday, July 23 will be a 'low' Mass, that is, without singing. The organist will be away. Thank you for your understanding!Bible Camp Thank You! Thank you to everyone who helped in any way with Bible Camp. To all those who taught, volunteered, provided food or donations, or offered your prayers. The children had a very nice time. We are already looking forward to next year!Anniversary Commemorative Stein For our 175th Anniversary, a Commemorative Stein was commissioned. We have only a tiny number of steins left. These are on a first come, first served basis. Each stein costs $25. Thank you to Parish Council and Scott Hofmann for assisting with the design.Talking in Church Please remember the Church is the House of God. It is important to remember that in Church, we are in His presence. Please try to maintain a prayerful spirit, also being respectful of others who come for a few moments of quite prayer. There is much noise and talking in the world, the Church is our refuge into silence, as Cardinal Sarah calls us to. Please keep talking to a minimum, and talk to the Lord in the silence of your own heart.Sick Visits If you, or someone in your immediate family is plan-ning to have major surgery, or is hospitalized for any reason, please contact Bro. Brent at [email protected], if a visit from one of our Priests is desired. He and Fr. Lawrence have begun visiting the sick of the Parish and would be happy to visit those temporarily in the hospital, as well. Please give some advance notice, if possible, for scheduling purposes.Italy Oratorian Pilgrimage - November 2017 If you are interested in going on the Pilgrimage to Italy in November, please make your reservations as soon as possible. We now have 27 pilgrims, and there is space for only 35! This is a great way to celebrate the establish-ment of the new Oratory by going on Pilgrimage in the footsteps of our Founder! Please contact the Parish Of-fice with any questions or for a flyer.Sunday Adoration and Vespers Sunday Adoration and Vespers have concluded for the summer. We will resume on September 17. Thank you to all those who make Sunday Adoration and Vespers possible!

Sacred Heart Parish Secretary Opening The secretary position at Sacred Heart in Camp Wash-ington is open listed. Fr. Jon-Paul is currently accepting résumés from interested parties. The position is part time. For more information, please contact Fr. Jon-PaulParents' Holy Hour - Children's Play Group Join our Pray and Play group! This is a group of parents who meet Tuesdays from 9:30 until 11:30 in Father Felten Hall. Children play while parents take turns cover-ing the Adoration hour from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. in the church. This allows parents some quiet time alone in Adoration or the chance to take children into Adora-tion for a shorter time period. This is a good opportunity to introduce Children to the idea of Adoration. Tuesday Parish Holy Hour - 7:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. Every Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. we are here making a Holy Hour. The Rosary begins at 7:30 and Confession is heard until 8:15. Benediction is at 8:30 p.m. Please join us, especially if you can not commit to a regular Holy Hour! Can you Help Clean our Beautiful Church? The Saturday morning church cleaning team could use more help on a regular basis. If a few people could com-mit to helping clean once or twice a month, it would be appreciated. Cleaning is done on Saturday mornings from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. We welcome children, 12 and up, who are willing to work hard. Younger chil-dren need a parent to remain with them. Contact Kathy Reisiger at 513 742-3432 or [email protected] if you can serve the parish in this manner.
