Bathroom Cleaner

The usual acid domestic cleaners may have the drawback of attacking or destroying sensitive surfaces, whilst alkaline orneutral cleaners have an inadequate cleaning action on mineral deposits. Hence, the use of any such cleaners in the homeis always confined to certain materials or types of dirt.

Hordaphos® CC additives can be used to formulate universal cleaners for the bathroom and kitchen. These cleaners arenotable for having a powerful cleaning action without damaging surfaces or installations such as fittings, showers, bathtubs, plastic surfaces, acid-resistant enamel, sinks and toilets.

ApplicationApply the product in concentrated form with an aerosol tothe surfaces to be cleaned, leave on for some time, thenwipe off with a damp cloth. Do not use on marble or lime-stone.

Decalcification Cleaner

Sulfamic acid is the mainly used acid for decalcification.

The use of Hordaphos® MDGB as a corrosion inhibitor in the following recipe allows the cleaner to be used for thecleaning of aluminium, stainless steel or acid-proof enamel surfaces.

ApplicationThe formulation can be used both for cold and warmapplications. The recommended application is a 10 % concentration in water.



PreparationThe formulation components are mixed at room temperaturein the given amount of water. The formulation can becolored optionally with 0.0025 - 0.01 % of Vitasyn Blue AE 90which is green in the acidic medium.

If higher concentrations are used (max. 14.5 %), precipita-tion of sulfamic acid may take place at lower temperatures.

Glass Ceramic Cleaner

Ceran®+ hob cleaners are intended to remove grease and burnt-on deposits, but in so doing they must not damage thesensitive ceramic surface.

Hordaphos® MDE effects very fine and uniform distribution of the abrasive (silica flour), which not only gives the formula-tion its long-term stability but also produces a better cleaning action while at the same time preserving the surface fromdamage. High grease-dissolving power and a brilliant gloss are also achieved in combination with the surfactants selected.

ApplicationA small amount of the undiluted formulation (shake wellbefore use) is sprayed onto the cold Ceran hob surface andrubbed with a soft damp cloth. The surface is then wipedwhile still wet and polished with a clean cloth. TheCeranfeld Cleaner can also be used to clean extractorhoods, saucepans, sinks and fittings. As with every abrasivecleaner, however, it should be borne in mind that stainlesssteel or chrome surfaces can be scratched if the product isnot used correctly.

Glass Cleaner

When car windows and panes are cleaned, soot, dust, pollen and fat have to be removed completely, but other materials assealings or varnish paint must not be damaged.

To get a satisfying cleaning result nevertheless, formulations based on isopropanol and Hordaphos® CC MIS can berecommended.

ApplicationThe formulation is used especially for the cleaning ofwindow-panes, mirrors and car windows. A concentrationof application of 1:50 to 1:100 is recommended.



PreparationFirst the surfactant is solved in the given amount of water,then Hordaphos CC MIS and isopropanol are added whilestirring. The formulation can be colored optionally with0.0025 - 0.01 % of the blue dye Sanolin Blue NBL.

Grill and Baking Tray Cleaner

With Hordaphos® MDGB effective cleaners can be produced which remove effortlessly impurities and deposits of fat andany kind of encrustation.

ApplicationThe formulation can be used at an application temperatureof 40 - 60 °C both in concentrated and in diluted form upto 1:3 depending on the degree of soiling and the materialdip and spray application (attention with non ferrousmetals and aluminium). The time of application should bedetermined in an experiment before, especially for the dipcleaning to prevent corrosion damage. Rinse with waterafter cleaning.

Metal Cleaner

Commercially available acid metal cleaners often contain mineral acids and/or organic acids, e.g. acetic and citric acid,as well as crosslinking, burnishing and/or polishing agents. These cleaners may suffer the drawback of causing varyingdegrees of corrosion on sensitive metal surfaces (stainless steel, chrome, copper, brass, nickel, tin, aluminium, etc.) withresultant pitting, discoloration, verdigris or abraded patches.

Formulations with Hordaphos® CC additives do more than merely avoid these corrosion phenomena. Because of their goodwetting properties they also have an optimum cleaning action on protein-based dirt. Additionally, they can shift deposits oflime soap and sparingly soluble calcium salts, besides also producing high-gloss finishes on such surfaces as chrome,copper, brass and stainless steel.

ApplicationThe formulation is used as a concentrate with a wet cloth.After the cleaning it is mopped with a wet cloth.

Exactly your chemistry.Multi Purpose Cleanerespecially for use in bathroom and kitchen

Acidic multi purpose cleaners are often based on citric acid. Because of its weak effect of solving chalk often only a poorcleaning result can be achieved.

Hordaphos® CC additives can be used to formulate effective acidic cleaners, which prevent the precipitating of yellowish-white deposits.

ApplicationAqueous dilutions of 1:100 to 1:200 are recommended.



PreparationThe citric acid is solved in the given amount of water, thedetergent added while stirring and completed with thecorresponding amount of Hordaphos CC MIN. At the endthe product is adjusted to a pH-value of 2.0 with potassiumhydroxide.

Hordaphos® CC additives can be used to formulate effective acid cleaning agents that do not cause such damages.

ApplicationThe formulation is used as a concentration of 1:30 to 1:300in water. Ceramic surfaces must be prewetted and, whenthe cleaning is completed, rinsed off with water.

Scrubbing Milk

Formulations with Hordaphos® additives do more than merely avoid these corrosion phenomena. Because of their goodwetting properties they also have an optimum cleaning action on persistent dirt. Additionally, they can produce high-glossfinishes on such surfaces as chrome, copper, brass and stainless steel.

ApplicationThe well shaked formulation is used as a concentrate witha wet cloth. After the cleaning it is mopped with a wet cloth. Attention, the metal cleaner is not suited for varnished surfaces.
