A Message from the Pastor:

My Friends in the Lord Jesus,

The Solemnity of the Holy Trinity, today’s feast day, is a remembrance and recognition on our part of what we have experienced in God’s self revelation to the world, Divine love and salvation. We celebrate today, on Trinity Sunday, God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. So we put into song what we proclaim, “O most Holy Trinity, Undivided Unity; Holy God, Mighty God, God Immortal, be adored.” Today’s celebration of the Holy Trinity, and that of Corpus Christi next weekend, are festivals of joy. Each feast enables us to look back to the season of Easter and to reflect and give thanks to God for saving us. St. Paul’s letter to the Philippians proclaims of Jesus, “although being in the form of God…emptied himself…and suffered death, death on a cross…and God highly exalted him,” is the reason we continue in our time, as in every age, to pray, to sing, to proclaim God’s love. The Old Testament Book of Deuteronomy reminds the people of God’s saving actions for them. Moses in the Book of Deuteronomy asks the people to consider if any people had ever experienced saving acts like God’s when he freed them from Egypt. “Did anything so great ever happened before?” “Was it ever heard of?” These are questions we are invited to ponder in our hearts as we recall the death, resurrection and ascension of the Lord Jesus. The passage from the Book of Deuteronomy concludes “This is why you must now know, and fix in your heart, that the Lord is God in the heavens above and on earth below, and that there is no other.” We have been experiencing so much these days. Let us open our hearts to God’s peace. Let us lift our hearts and minds in a hymn of praise, “God Father…Good will and peace to mankind, the gifts your kingdom brings…O Jesus, King anointed, you have redemption won… O Holy Ghost, creator, the gift of God most high; Life, love and holy wisdom, our weakness now supply…” Lent, Easter and the Easter season, and the solemnities of Pentecost, Holy Trinity, and Corpus Christi celebrate the saving act of God. We abide in the mystery of this truth. We bless ourselves in the holy name of God. We trace the Cross over ourselves as we proclaim, by that very action, the God we celebrate: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR GENEROSITY !

The Most Holy Trinity

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son…” (John 3:16)

Is your love conditional? Is there a price others have to pay to receive your love and forgiveness? Are you generous with your time, skills, money, and possessions? If you give someone something, do you expect something in return? Do you give your time freely or do you “fit it in” when it’s convenient for you? God desires a personal relationship with us so much that He gave us His Son, unconditionally! Pray for a grateful and generous heart.

Prayer in Time of Pandemic

O God, whose Only Begotten Son bore the weight of human suffering

for our salvation, hear the prayers of your Church for our sick brothers and sisters

and deliver us from this time of trial. Open our ears and our hearts to the voice of your Son:

Be not afraid, for I am with you always. Bless all doctors and nurses,

researchers and public servants; give us the wisdom to do what is right

and the faith to endure this hour, that we might gather once again to praise your name in the heart of your Church,

delivered from all distress and confident in your mercy.

Through Christ our Lord. Amen

Prayer for Peace Lord God of peace, hear our prayer! We have tried so many times and over so many years to resolve our conflicts by our own powers and by the force of our arms. How many moments of hostility and darkness have we experienced; how much blood has been shed; how many lives have been shattered; how many hopes have been buried… But our efforts have been in vain.

Now, Lord, come to our aid! Grant us peace, teach us peace; guide our steps in the way of peace. Open our eyes and our hearts, and give us the courage to say: "Never again war!"; "With war everything is lost". Instill in our hearts the courage to take concrete steps to achieve peace.

Lord, God of Abraham, God of the Prophets, God of Love, you created us and you call us to live as brothers and sisters. Give us the strength daily to be instruments of peace; enable us to see everyone who crosses our path as our brother or sister. Make us sensitive to the plea of our citizens who entreat us to turn our weapons of war into implements of peace, our trepidation into confident trust, and our quarrel-ing into forgiveness.

Keep alive within us the flame of hope, so that with patience and perseverance we may opt for dialogue and reconciliation. In this way may peace triumph at last, and may the words "division", "hatred" and "war" be banished from the heart of every man and woman. Lord, defuse the violence of our tongues and our hands. Renew our hearts and minds, so that the word which always brings us together will be "brother", and our way of life will always be that of: Shalom, Peace, Salaam! Amen.
