Running InThe mechanism of this model requires running in(without a load) for approximately 1 hour in eachdirection at moderate speed.

CurvesBachmann Branchline locomotives are not suita-ble for use on track tighter than second radius (18inches).

DCC Decoder fitting to non DCC fitted locoThis model has an 21-pin mtc socket in the tenderfor a decoder with an appropriate fitting e.g. Bach-mann 36-554. The decoder back emf CV settingsmay need to be adjusted in line with the decoderfitting instructions.We recommend that the running in as above becarried out using a DC power supply before mov-ing on to fit a DCC decoder.There is space in the tender and loudspeaker con-nectors on the PCB to fit an aftermarket sounddecoder.Any customer fitted decoder should be removedfrom the model in the event of service being re-quired from Bachmann Europe plc.

LubricationWhen required, sparingly lubricate the motor bear-ings using plastic compatible light oil and the geartrain with model grease.

Buffer beam pipes and coupler.The locomotive vacuum pipes fit and cosmeticcoupler fit as shown.

The model should be handled carefully as ithas many finely detailed parts. It is not suita-ble for persons under 14 years.
