On the occasion of International Customs Day, MIAL Cargo bagged the ‘Certificate of Merit’ under the category ‘Best Custodian’ on 27 January, 2017 in Mumbai. The prestigious recognition was presented to MIAL by Shri Devendra Singh, Chief Commissioner of Customs, Air Cargo Complex in the presence of Shri Devendra Fadnavis, Hon’ble CM of Maharashtra and Mr Adi Godrej, Guest of Honour and the Chairman of Godrej Group of Companies.

Ms Suchita Shetty, Head - Terminals Management and Baggage Operations, MIAL was honoured with the ‘Women Super Achiever Award for Excellence in Aviation and Aerospace Sector.’ The 4th World Women Leadership Congress and Awards (WWLCA) were held on 17 February, 2017 in Mumbai. This year’s theme was ‘YOU WE CAN’ and the objective was to identify and celebrate the outstanding leadership and achievements demonstrated by women leaders who reflected their distinct innovations and initiatives in private and public sectors, and philanthropists.

GVK CSIA hosted a grand opening of the GVK Excellence Centre at Terminal 1. BCAS (Bureau of Civil Aviation Security) organized a workshop for the training of empanelled instructors to conduct screener certification, to understand the basics of adult learning theory and how to prepare and facilitate examination development. The aim of this workshop was to help the examiners gain necessary skills and confidence to conduct examinations and judge candidates with better uniformity. The workshop also helped understand the foundation of conducting a need analysis, develop learning objectives and evaluate the impact of training initiatives. It was a quite interactive workshop that also focused on implementing a variety of testing styles, creating a positive environment and managing evaluation challenges.

A training program on Good Housekeeping Practices - 5S was conducted for the employees at Gautami CCPP.

The 5S process is a structured program to achieve organizational cleanliness and standardization in the workplace which results in a safer and more efficient

and productive operations.

The outsourced employees at Gautami CCPP underwent training on Behavioral Based Safety. It was facilitated by

As part of the Continuous Training Program, a Refresher Training was conducted by Mr Karan Singh Kumawat, AGM - F&A on 10 February, 2017 for toll collectors of

the Toll Operations Department. The training focused on providing insights to ensure smooth and efficient handling

of the toll operations.

one-minute game was organized for all the associates wherein the participants had to

transfer water to maximum number of bottles with the help of a sponge.

To apprise the employees about the various tools available for investment planning, a session on ‘Awareness on Financial Investment Plans’ was conducted at the Corporate Office, Hyderabad. Organized in collaboration with Karvy Stock Broking Limited, the session focused on the benefits of various investment plans available. It was headed by Mr Gaurav Dua, Deputy General Manager - Corporate Marketing and Mr Rajanikanth Thota, Manager - Product Marketing. The session highlighted the following aspects:• Importance of Financial Planning• Benefits of investing and how to choose the right investment tool • Investment in shares, mutual funds and other tools.• Tax saving sections and instruments

A thanksgiving lunch was organized for all the associates to kick start the year on a happy and cheerful note. Various entertainment activities including musical chairs, ring game and ‘lucky person of the day’ were

also planned. Everyone enjoyed the sumptuous lunch and had a great time dancing, singing and playing.

Around 40 associates participated in the Hoopla game that attracted a lot of cheer from everyone. The participants were given three rings which they had to aim at the various items spread across a table.

Everyone enjoyed themselves and had a great time.

In line with its CSR philosophy, team Taj Krishna, Hyderabad extended support to Goonj, an NGO that works towards improving the quality of life of the less privileged communities. Goonj collects urban underutilized articles with the help of volunteers and partner organizations, and provides for the basic needs of far flung villages. It endeavours to provide for basic needs like education, hygiene, women’s sanitation, health, water conservation and infrastructure etc. Team Taj Krishna volunteered to contribute towards their current campaign, “Cold doesn’t kill people, lack of clothes do.” Many posters were displayed across the hotel to create buzz and invite maximum contribution from the associates. This initiative lasted for about ten days and received an overwhelming response wherein more than 1200 articles were collected and contributed to the NGO.

GVK ONE mall collaborated with CII-Yi (Confederation of Indian Industries-Young Indian) for an initiative called HORN NOT OK PLEASE (HNOP). Yi identified several public places to spread awareness about the ill-effects of unnecessary and excess honking. With about a million footfalls every month, GVK ONE served as a strategic location to set up HNOP signage in prominent areas to help raise awareness. It was inaugurated by Mr Sanjay Bansal - Head, GVK ONE mall. The customers were briefed about the initiative and were also handed car windshield stickers.

GVK BIO sponsored Bio Asia 2017 and showcased all group companies - GVK BIO, Aragen Biosciences and Inogent Laboratories P Ltd. Mr Manni Kantipudi, CEO was part of a panel discussion on ‘Make in India’ that had participants from the industry and the government. The entire session was broadcast live on Twitter besides posting regular updates on other social

media platforms like Facebook and LinkedIn. This also helped drive traffic to the new website and enhance brand visibility.

As part of the Fun Fridays initiative at GVK BIO, a kite-flying activity and a rangoli competition was organized for all the associates. Everyone enjoyed watching the colourful kites soaring high in the blue sky. GVK BIO-ites came forward and showcased their creative side with some vibrant rangoli designs that were a visual treat for all. Mrs Lathaa Subramanian - Hyderabad, Dr Prakash Kotame, Mr Kathiravan Asokan and Ms Boddula Geethanjali - Bangalore judged the competition and congratulated all the particiapants.

GVK EMRI

GVK EMRI provides services during Peddagattu Jathara in TelanganaPeddagattu Jathara, also known as Lingamanthula Jathara, is held once every two years at Durajpalli village in

Suryapeta District of Telangana. This year, it was celebrated at Lingamanthula Swamy Temple at Durajpalli from 12th to 16th February. This Jathara is one of the biggest fairs in India and the second largest in Telangana after Sammakka Sarakka Jathara held at Medaram in Warangal District. Nearly 25 lakh devotees visited the temple during the festival.

GVK EMRI provided efficient services throughout the Jathara by setting up a first-aid centre along with three ambulances. Around 30 emergences and 20 first-aid cases were attended by GVK EMRI. Many dignitaries also attended the Jathara including Shri G. Jagadish Reddy, Minister of Power & SC cell, Shri Thalasani Srinivasa Yadav, Minister of Cinematography,

Shri Surendra Mohan IAS District Collector of Suryapeta and Smt Parimala Nuthan IPS, Superintendent of Police, Suryapeta.

GVK EMRI completes 8 years of its operations in MeghalayaGVK EMRI successfully completed eight years of its operations in the state of Meghalaya on 2 February, 2017. With a fleet of forty eight ambulances, GVK EMRI has attended around 1.5 lakh emergencies in the state and has saved around 17,000 lives. So far, GVK EMRI has assisted over

1500 child births in the ambulances. The timely response and efficient service provided by the Pilots and the Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) across the difficult terrains has helped improve the emergency medical scenario in the state.

Ms Rani, OLMR awarded GVK EMRI’s research paper presented by Ms Rani, OLMR (On Line Medical

Research) was awarded at the 9th National Conference of Pediatric

Emergency Care Physicians at Hyderabad Apollo Hospitals. She bagged the Third Prize for Research Presentation by the Society for Trauma and Emergency
