Details of the Celebration and Dedication of the Gus Andreone Practice and Teaching FacilityTRANSCRIPT
November, 2011
To my friends and fellow members of Palm Aire Country Club, I cannot thank you enough for your generosity and enthusi‐asm! What an honor it is to see our range transformed into the new state of the art Gus Andreone Prac ce and Teaching Fa‐cility. I am humbled by this recogni on and proud to be a part of such a wonderful Country Club. Awarding me the honor of having this facility bare my name makes me feel as though I have just won the biggest lo ery ever! What a thrill it is to know that our great grandchildren will know the Gus Andreone Prac ce and Teaching Facility was named for a 100 year old teaching pro who s ll played golf three mes a week. Be y and I joined Palm Aire in 1986, 25 years ago, 25% of my life. In that me I have go en to know many of the members and friends who were responsible for making this happen. To the members and friends I have not yet personally met, when you see me at the Prac ce Facility or at the Clubhouse please introduce yourselves. I would like to meet you and thank you in person. In conclusion, I know there are many people who made Saturday October 29, 2011 happen. Thanks to all of you, the Palm Aire staff, the many donors and the Commi ee who brought this all together. It was a day I will never forget. I would only hope that my teaching will con nue and be an example to others for years to come. God Bless Everyone!

Fellow Members, On behalf of our en re GUS 100 Commi ee, we want to thank everyone for helping to make the Gus Andreone Prac ce and Teaching Facility a reality. It has certainly en‐hanced Palm Aire Country Club and we have become the envy of Clubs in the area. It was quite a year for all of us to see the fruits of many people's efforts. Below you will see the Commi ee listed. They all were very helpful in planning an ac vity and event that had no precedent. In addi on, three of our Members deserve special men on. Wayne Halt worked relessly to make sure our monies were prudently spent. Gary Shorts delivered a fabulous series that brought all of us an in mate portrait of Gus. And last, John Grey's magnificent carving of Gus will be with us forever. Thanks gentle‐man for your services that were above and beyond. Also, listed below are the Vendor Partners we had during the construc on. All of these firms helped to make this happen. In addi on, we want to thank the approximately 200 donors who funded the effort. In addi on, we have a slight overage that will now be applied to the Chipping Area. Many Members have asked if we s ll needed financial support. While it is not required for the new Facility, it would be fantas c to con nue our collec ve work and transform the Chipping Area also. To that end, the Brick Monument Area will con nue to be a place where addi onal contributors can be recognized. We are ge ng final es mates on the Chipping Area now. There would be no "signage" or plaques in that area. Com‐ple ng it just seems like the right thing to do. So, if you are interested, please respond to this email and Jennifer Fulman will handle it for you. In closing, our journey was an interes ng one. When we first started, we had no vision of where we would finish. A bunch of friends thought having a unique golfing "treasure" celebra ng 100 years was worth recognizing. At the end, we hope everyone sees how all of us got to celebrate this special event and the benefit it is to all of us. See you at the Prac ce and Teaching Facility, Cas Kudla Paul Stehle Ed Kornberger Co Chairman Co Chairman Co Chairman
