3. Other Computer Engineering Technology Responsibilities

o Created the CET industry advisory board. The board consists of managers/engineers from: Cisco Networking Corporation, All-State Networking Div., Westfield Insurance ICT Div, Kent State University Information Services Director; AllState and the Westfield Insurance Group have both committed to providing internship to students; sought facilities and resources from industry to support course delivery; maintained the integrity of the CET curriculum

o Successfully accomplished the following outcomes for CET: (i) CET was granted ATMAE accreditation in spring 2015. (ii) Managers/Engineers from CISCO across the US, including Silicon Valley, England and Australia worked with graduate students on at least 30 requirements engineering projects. (iii) Cisco is presently mentoring 2 female students as a pilot program (iv) All-State Networking Division provided networking hardware for the CET labs, and offered annual internship for CET students, All-State Networking Manager and Engineers worked with students on their requirements engineering projects, (v) signed MOU for collaborative work between faculty/students and Westfield Insurance and (vi)Juniper signed agreement (click link for details) with the College to provide networking hardware and software resources for the CET program. Juniper has donated a virtual (cloud-based) Networking Lab to the College for students and faculty. (vi)The revenue from the CET program has exceeded $3,500,000.00.

i. Curriculum Development for The School of Digital Sciences (DSCI)

I developed the Digital Systems Telecommunication Networks concentration at the Master’s and

Bachelor degrees respectively in Digital Sciences. This effort involved contributions of the other 4

DSCI original committee members. The Digital Systems Telecommunication Networks concentration focuses on the communication

infrastructure needed by an organization and the design and management of a telecommunication system and

computer network to meet those needs.

I designed and developed two new DSCI specific courses:

5. Research at Kent State University i. Framework for Network Management and Control in Wireless Networks: This research included the

design of novel networking framework characterized by continuous data streams, analysis of real-time continuous data streams, the development of a suite of real-time algorithms and state machines, analysis of the Application and Middleware layers of autonomous and heterogeneous sensor entities, decision graphs and distributed architectures.

Research Outcome: (i) Awarded US Patent No.8,868,725 B2; exploring research funding

opportunities for airborne networks ii. Cloud Computing (CC) Architectures: Collaborative research with colleague, Irena Bojanova from

UMUC Research Outcomes: (i) Published one peer-reviewed paper on CC; (ii) Published second peer-

reviewed paper jointly with Irena Bojanova; and gave two conference presentations jointly with Irena Bojanova.

Think-A-Move (T-A-M), consulting Director, Systems Arch and Software Development [2004 – 2006]

Successfully designed, developed and implemented algorithms, communication protocols, for a

miniature pocket-size communication system that performs thousands of (i.e., infinite) hands-free

discrete controls and maneuvering of remote wireless network elements, such as UGV, SUGV, and

robots. The algorithm uses a maximum of 8 distinct DSP signals generated by 8 distinct movements

of the tongue to generate infinite control operations.

Developed the state machines, architectures and systems engineering requirements documents to

implement T-A-M system software. Supervised the SDLC of T-A-M system

Lucent Technologies, Systems Engineer/Architect, Intelligent Networks [1996- 2000]

Successfully designed and developed wireless intelligent network service data objects for Voice,

Video and Data in 3G for Sprint, MCI, Bell South and Ameritech

Successfully designed and developed end-to-end wireless intelligent network systems engineering

requirements for: Communications Assistance to Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA), search

operations by network elements

Successfully designed and implemented algorithms for wireless unique challenge, GSM pre-paid
