FT SAMACHAR
25 APRIL 2020
Guru Nanak Institute of Technology
Department of Food Technology
Message from HOD
It gives me immense pleasure to talk about the Newsletter of the Dept. of Food Technology of GNIT, which
envisages the departmental initiatives during lockdown
phase through digital platform.
Nitty- gritty:
➢ To involve the students and get them acquainted and experienced about another mode of teaching
which gives opportunity to continue education
system in this period
➢ Students are involved in online lecture,
assignment, tests, up-dation of project ideas,
conceptualization of model designing etc
through different types of online platforms.
➢ Students are motivated and also participating in
Webinars, Workshops and Training
programmes conducted by different international and nationally acclaimed industrial
personnel that broadens the industrial
knowledge and bridges the gap between
education and practical world.
➢ Under the guidance of faculty members, students are submitting online innovative project
proposals in different competitions of national
repute and also won prizes (Prakriti, IIT KGP;
Smart India Hackathon; etc).
➢ A couple of projects got selected for publication in referred/scopus indexed journals which has
increased the enthusiasm in students
and the Saga continues.......
Stay Safe….. Stay at Home…..

Message from Principal
Life has continued for us, even after the lockdown. GNIT
has not witnessed any cessation of academic activities in this
phase COVID-19 pandemic situation. I feel extremely
happy that the Department of Food Technology (FT) is
going to publish this Special Edition Newsletter:
“FT SAMACHAR” containing conduction of Online
classes and all sorts of digital activities they sportingly and
enthusiastically did during the ongoing Lockdown period to
keep all their Students busy and restricted to Stay at Home
for which the Parents/Guardians of the Students also got
relaxed that their wards are busy with studies and many
other activities on digital Platform. Apart from conduction
of digital classes and virtual Labs, they also did a good no.
of Webinars, Parent Teacher Meet, Alumni Interaction,
Blended Learning and the most interesting Digital Cultural
programme. This Special Edition Lockdown News Letter is
a reflection of the positive vibes of the FT Dept.
I wish that this Newsletter should be distributed to the mass
to spread positive vibes all across to focus on the phrase
“Education Cannot Stop”.
Stay Safe….. Stay at Home…..
