Day01 Arrive Ahmedabad

Welcome to your 'Temple Tour of Gujarat' tour! On arrival at the airport / railway station in Ahmedabad, you will be met and transferred to

your hotel. Later, proceed on a half day city tour of Ahmedabad visiting Gandhi Ashram, Calico Museum, Utensils Museum, the Jami Mosque and Akshardham

temple complex.. Overnight in Ahmedabad None (Meals on your own).

Ahmedabad * Excursion to Modhera (102 kms / approx. 3 hour drive) Day02

This morning, proceed on an excursion to the Sun Temple at Modhera that dates back to the early 11th century. Built in 1026 AD by King

Bhimdev of the Solanki dynasty, the relics at the sun temple is dedicated to the natural elements fire, air, earth, water and sky alongside the

sculptures of many gods. En route visit Patan famous for Jain temples,one of the most important being the Mahavir Swami Derasar in Dhandherwad. Also visit the Rani ki

Vav (the Queen's Stepwell), an excellent example of subterranean architecture of Gujarat. The rest of the evening is at leisure for independent activities. Overnight in Ahmedabad (B)

On to Gondal (265 kms / approx. 6 hour drive) Day03

This morning, proceed to Gondal- one of the remaining few towns that hold the real cultural heritage of the Rajput kings and early rulers in

Gujarat. On arrival, check in to your hotel. Later, proceed on a city tour of Gondal visiting places like the Orchard Palace Retreat, the Virpur Jalaram Bapa Temple, Naulakha Palace, the Royal Palace the Veri Lake. The Orchard Palace was built as an annex of the Huzoor Palace, the family residence, in the late-19th century to host personal guests of the

Maharajas. Shri Jalaram Bapa was a Hindu Saint from Gujarat. The shrine is actually the house complex where the saint lived during his life time. The Naulakha Palace Museum is housed inside a 260 year palace. The museum houses artefacts used by Maharaja Bhagwat Sinhji which includes

silver caskets that carried messages and gifts for the king. It is open only for those who stay at the Orchard Palace or Riverside Palace in Gondal. Veri Lake, one of the prominent lakes in Gondal, is an ideal place for watching birds like pelican, flamingo, spoonbill, crane and black, glossy and

white ibis. The rest of the evening is at leisure. Overnight in Gondal (B)

On to Somnath (155 kms / approx. 4 hour drive ) Day04

Post breakfast, proceed Somnath located on the extreme southwest coast of Gujarat. En route visit the Somnath Temple. Somnath Temple is an

age-old temple enshrining the sacred Shivlinga, one of the 12 Shiva Jyotirlingas. According to legend, this shore temple is believed to have been

originally built in gold by the moon god Soma, in silver by the sun god Ravi, in wood by Krishna and in stone by the Solanki Rajputs in the 11th

century. On arrival, check in to your hotel. The rest of the evening is at leisure. Overnight in Somnath. (B)

On to Dwarka (230 kms / approx. 6 1/2 hour drive) Day05

This morning, proceed to Dwarka,en route visit the Kirti Mandir at Porbandar Kirti Mandir is the ancestral home of Mahatma Gandhi. It is a memorial dedicated to the father of the nation and is located next to the three-

storeyed haveli where the Mahatma was born. The place has now been converted into a small museum and

contains various belongings and memorabilia related to the Mahatma, including a vast collection of pictures depicting his life. On arrival, check in to your hotel in Dwarka. The rest of the evening is at leisure. Overnight in Dwarka (B)

Day06 In Dwarka

Proceed on a city tour of Dwarka to visit the world renowed Dwarkadheesh and Rukmini Temple. Later visit Shankhoddar Island also known as

Bet Dwarka - home to Ranchhodrai, Matsyavatar and Nageshwar temple. The rest of the evening is at leisure. Overnight in Dwarka (B)

On to Rajkot (235 kms / approx. 5 hour drive) Day07

This morning, proceed to Rajkot. On arrival, check in to your hotel. In the afternoon, proceed on a sightseeing tour of Rajkot visiting places like the Watson Museum, Kaba Gandhi No Delo and the Bhomeshvar

Temple. The rest of the evening is at leisure Or one can opt to shop "Bandhani" dress materials or sarees that are exclusive of Gujarat tradition in the

local markets. Overnight in Rajkot (B)
