Guitar 101 Part 2Congratulations on working through the first 10 weeks of Guitar 101. Hopefully,
you’re feeling confident in the material we’ve covered so far and are ready to takeyour playing to another level. We return to the world of beginner guitar in this live
workshop. This six-week module is largely focused on chords. We’re going tocover, the minors, power chords, barre chords and spend a lot of time looking atchord progressions. Six weeks on chords might sound like a lot, but remember,
everything we do includes playing and applying what we learn over real music, soyou’re not stuck just learning shapes with nowhere to take them. I’m looking
forward to helping you continue your guitar journey!

Week 1 : Changing Strings( http://members.jamplay.com/workshops/session/104 )
Thursday, April 21st at 8pm Eastern
Well, you’ve been playing for at least 10 weeks now. It’s high time we changed some strings! We’re going to look at how to change strings and perform basic guitarmaintenance on an acoustic and three different type of electrics, each with different bridge setups. I wish there was an online session like this when I was learning! Bring your guitar and change your strings along with me.

Week 2 : Do You Wear Flannel?(http://members.jamplay.com/workshops/session/105)
Thursday, April 28th at 8pm Eastern
We’re going to learn and apply the E and A string power chord shapes. We’ll discuss different fingerings and work on two different familiar chord progressions over backing tracks to break your power chord fingers in!
Week 3 : Three Basic Minor Chords(http://members.jamplay.com/workshops/session/106)
Thursday, May 5th at 8pm Eastern
You may have already gone ahead and learned these, but we’re officially covering the basicopen minor shapes here. We’ll look at Am, Em and Dm. In the spirit of injecting a bit of
creativity, we’re also going to work on a few major and minor chord variations as well. They’llgo nicely with our tracks.
Week 4 : The Dreaded Barre Chord, Part 1( http://members.jamplay.com/workshops/session/107 )
Thursday, May 12th at 8pm Eastern
Barre chords are often the first major road block beginner guitar players hit. We’re going tomake the process of getting these pesky chords down simple and pain free! We’re going totake the shapes in stages (this week we look at only the E shape), look at hand and wrist
positions and look at how to practice barre chords for the best results.

This week is all about the A shape barre chord. We’re going to do the exact same thing we didwith E and go through the paces with A. There’s a few more fingering options with A, and we’ll
look at those as well.
