1B - Bell Work (pg 13)– How do we determine if
something is alive or not?– Create a 2 columns labeled
alive and not alive. Sort these items into the proper location:
• Bacteria, moose, rock, virus, bird, fish, volcano, hurricane, planet, mouse

• Create four columns almost to the end of you paper (leave 5 lines on the bottom)
• Once sorting is finished answer the question:– What characteristics do all of the items in the alive
column share? Discuss with you classmates. Please list and explain at least 4 common characteristics.
