1. Styles and formatting task pane

You can change the appearance of a text box by simply clicking it and using predefi ned styles. To show the styles and format-ting task pane, choose „Format“ and the menu option „Styles and Formatting“. You can display the predefi ned styles used for the KSB newsletter by selecting „Available formatting“ from the „Show“ drop down menu at the bottom of the styles and format-ting task pane. Now select the text you want to change and choose a style from the style and formatting task pane. You could change the heading on the title page to „Heading 1“, for example.

2. Editing a text box

Right-click the border of the text box.

Choose „Format Text Box“ from the context menu.

In the dialog box that now opens, you can change the size and position of the text box using the various tab pages.

Important!The predefi ned font sizes must not be changed.

3. Editing and positioning an image

Choose „Insert“ and „Picture“.

You can access the settings dialog box by choosing „Format Picture“ from the context menu.

On the „Layout“ tab page, choose wrapping style „In front of text“ from the layout tab page to position the image freely within the document.

You can change the position, size and the crop dimen-sions of the image using the „Size“ and „Picture“ tab pages.You can position images anywhere on the page.

4. Editing headers

You can edit the header directly by double-clicking it, which also opens the „Header and Footer“ toolbar. If you change one header, the changes are made to all headers in the document.

Please note:The predefi ned font sizes and margin sizes must not be changed. You may only change headings or dates. The header images and margins are standardised in the newsletter and must not be changed or replaced with other images.

5. Adding a blank page

Go to the last page of the document and choose „Insert“ and „Break“..

Choose „Page Break“ and click OK.

6. Inserting and linking text boxes

Choose „Insert“ and „Text Box“.

Left-click and drag the mouse to create a new text box.

The width of the text box must correspond to the other pages. Right-click the text box you have just created and choose „Format Text Box“. In the dialog box that now opens, you can change the size and position of the text box using the various tab pages.

Show the „Text Box“ toolbar by choosing „View“ and „Toolbars“.

Create another text box. Left-click the fi rst text box to select it and then choose the „Link Text Box“ icon on the „Text Box“ tool-bar. Now click inside the second text box you have just created.

Both text boxes are now linked together. If the text is too long to fi t in the fi rst text box, it will automatically continue in the second text box. You can use the same technique to link text boxes from an existing page to a text box on a new page.Both text boxes are now linked together.
