Use of the DVSA Earned Recognition marque

The marque will act as a symbol of the high standard that DVSA wishes to see across all sectors of the industry.

The marque will be available to be displayed in areas defined by these guidelines and will act as an assurance to users of operators that they’re compliant with the regulations and are safe to be on the road.

Who can use the marque?

The marque will be available to:

• Operators who have Earned Recognition status.• DVSA authorised audit providers and validated IT suppliers.

It will also be available to be used by authorised third parties, exclusively for the purposes of the primary holder, such as:

Website designers. Stationery printers. Exhibition stand suppliers.

The DVSA reserves the right to withdraw permission, from both the primary user and third parties, to use the marque at any time.

How do I apply for the marque?

You can only apply for the marque once you have met the standards and joined the Earned Recognition scheme, you may then use the marque in accordance with these guidelines.

Authorised audit providers and validated IT suppliers will also be given the marque to use as set out in these guidelines.

Once you get Earned Recognition status, you’ll be sent the marque by email.

Where can I display the marque?

Marque can be used on:

Websites Stationery Emails Event stands / materials

Marque can’t be used on:

Vehicles Signage for premises, depots Uniforms Staff ID’s

Note: When used digitally, the marque will become a link to DVSA’s Earned Recognition pages on gov.uk.

How should the marque be displayed?

Size

Two marques will be supplied:

One with a strap line to use if the width is above 7cm, for example, when used forevent stands.

One without a strap line if the width is under 7cm, for example, on stationery.

The colour of the marque should be black or white.

The marques must be used with a proportionate ‘no fly zone’ around them.

Even if the marque stands alone on a board, it must have a large enough ‘border’.

Marque integrity

Do not stretch, squash or alter the marque in any way.

Do not invert the marque.

Do not invert the marque to produce ‘negative’ version.

Always have a ‘no fly zone’ around the marque.

Should be black or white only – no other colours to be used.

Positioning of marque

To be positioned at bottom of letters, alongside other accreditations, but there are no strict guidelines.
