It provides extensive information about the institutions and projects towhich the United Board lent its support. The United Board was established tosupport and coordinate the activities of Protestant colleges and universitiesin China and after 1950 extended its work to other parts of Asia.

Biographical / HistoricalThe United Board for Christian Higher Education in Asia was established in the 1920s to support andcoordinate the activities of Protestant colleges and universities in China. Following the Communisttakeover of China, the United Board focused its eorts on educational work in other Asian nations. Inrecent years it has re-focused some of its activities on China. See the annual reports of the United Board fora detailed description of program activities during the period covered by this collection.
