WINTER HOURS: November 18 – December 26, 2017 Sunday – Thursday: 5 - 9pm Friday & Saturday: 5 – 10pm DESCRIPTION: A non-profit, charitable organization that holds a free annual family holiday light show – complete with Santa, holiday music and fire pits for roasting marshmallows. Guests are surrounded by a magical atmosphere geared toward all ages. Please help out those in need by bringing a new, unwrapped toy or a non-perishable food item to donate to our food and toy drive. RATES: Free of charge. Donations to help keep the lights on are accepted. Parking is $5. DIRECTIONS: Located in Bayfront Festival Park. Take I-35 to the Lake Avenue Exit [256B]. Take Lake Avenue toward Canal Park, turn right on Railroad Street and follow the signs. Parking is also available in Downtown Duluth or the DECC. Travel part of the original railroad route into Duluth, a 6 mile journey and return trip following the beautiful St. Louis River Corridor in West Duluth. The ride is filled with history, wildlife and incredible scenery. It’s the closest view of the river without getting wet! Vintage equipment includes two 1912 passenger coaches, a bright yellow 1946 switch engine, plus an open-air “Safari Car”. This ride is a one-of-a-kind, unique railroad experience. SUMMER HOURS: 9am – 6pm (7 days a week) WINTER HOURS: 9am – 5pm (Labor Day – Memorial Day) DESCRIPTION: Located in the Historic Union Depot, the Lake Superior Railroad museum displays a huge collection of railroad artifacts including various locomotives, passenger cars, freight stock, maintenance equipment model train displays, video presentations, and much more. Along with the trains on display inside the museum is Depot Square, a ¾ scale recreation of Duluth’s downtown in 1910, with various buildings guests can tour. Many exhibits are interactive. RATES: Standard Duluth Depot Entrance - Adults: $14, Children (3-13) $6 [Admission also includes St. Louis County Historical Society, Veterans’ Memorial Hall and the Duluth Art Institute] DIRECTIONS: 506 West Michigan Street, Duluth, MN 55802. This summer, you have a brand-new opportunity to go ‘behind the fence’ with one of our zookeepers to feed our adorable wallabies. Offered twice daily, this new tour gets you up close and personal with these critters from down under! The Zoo also has more than 300 animals of over 100 species, including snow leopard and Amur tiger, lions, exotic tropical parrots, as well as several primate species, prairie dogs, nocturnal animals, and a barnyard filled with farm animals.
