Compendex http://www.engineeringvillage2.orgThis provides world-wide coverage of several thousand engineering journals andconferences including significant conferences held by the Society of AutomotiveEngineers (SAE). It is American which is reflected in its spelling and terminology (eg.Aluminum for Aluminium).

Inspec http://search.epnet.comThis covers a wide range of international journals and conferences including mobilevehicle communication systems and automotive electrical and electronic systems.

SAE Technical PapersThis provides access to full text SAE Technical Papers that have been presented atSAE meetings. This includes for example, Automotive Dynamics and Stability andControls, Commercial Vehicle Engineering, Motorsports Engineering Conference,Powertrain and Fluid Systems Conference, Small Engine Technology.

IngentaSelect http://www.ingentaselect.comThis contains abstracts from 750,000 articles in over 2,500 journals. Full text articlesare available only from journals to which we subscribe.

ScienceDirect http://www.sciencedirect.comThis is a full text database which provides access to over 1,000 Elsevier Sciencejournals. It covers scientific, technical (including engineering) and medical researchtitles.

Electronic Journals Service (EJS) http://ejournals.ebsco.comEJS lets you find journals by words contained in the title, the word starting the title andexact title match. It is possible to search for a subject in the title, title and abstract or thetitle, abstract and full text of all the electronic journals that the library subscribes to. It isAthens authenticated and available on and off campus.

Edinburgh Engineering Virtual Library http://www.eevl.ac.ukEEVL covers 10,000 quality engineering, mathematics and computing web sites andalso provides a search engine to over 200 engineering e-journal sites. It also providesaccess to the Recent Advances in Manufacturing database which is a bibliographicdatabase for manufacturing and related areas. The database indexes over 500 journalsfrom 1990 onwards.

Bosch Automotive Handbook, 6th edition,2004 629.2AUTThe single most informative guide to anything technical regarding automobiles. Coverseverything from machine parts to electronic stability program (ESP), lighting toautomotive hydraulics. There are loan copies available in the library as well as the quickreference copy.

Car Suspension and Handling, 4th Edition, 2004 629.24BASThis covers all aspects of steering, suspension systems, and dampers.
