Editing tools on the timeline

The razor toolThe razor tool allows you to make your footage repeat itself and also stutter. It gives a fast paced Tempo to your videoThe effect of the razorTool works well withA fast paced song.

You just select the razor tool on the tool bar in the bottom right hand corner and go to the exact moment you want to use it and then it will cut it in half, drag one half of the footage in the screen in the top left and then drag it back and you can then either use repetition or drag it in your footage and keep cutting it in half and dragging in the screen and drag it back in and will create a stutter effect

As you can see I just cutIt in half and put the footage over to create the stutter effect

The selection ToolWith the selection toolYou can dragClips and move them into a certain time you would like them to be in. It allows you to move certain clips as a group and place them into different times

As you can see I am dragging a clip to another point in my timeline as it may benefit my video and improve it, can also see the exact time if you slide the selection tool across the timer.

You can find the selection tool in the toolbar in the bottom right hand corner, along with many other tools that could improve your video

The Hand ToolThe hand tool is used when you want to go along the timeline, it allows you to drag to the timeline backwards and forwards, it can help you find a certain point in your timeline.

You just select the hand tool in the tool bar in the bottom right hand corner, and literally place it on the timeline and just drag backwards or forwards depending on where you want to go in your timeline.

This is where you can find theHand tool, the symbol is a hand to indicate it is the hand tool

The Pen ToolWith the zoom tool what you do is just simply click in on the timeline to magnify the view, so you can see your shots easier and it allows you to adjust your clips to the certain point in the timeline, or it allows you to use the razor tool and you can see exactly where you want to cut the image to use repetition or to make it stutter.

As you can see I have zoomed into my timeline because I used the zoom tool which you can find in the tool bar on the right hand side, I can now see what time I want to place my clips and if I need to use a razor tool I can clearly see where I want to slice it.

As you can see, you can find the Zoom tool at the very bottom ofThe tool bar, just underneath the hand tool.
