It is an extraordinary start and finish of the race passing by the Lake Geneva and under the watchful eye of Freddie Mercury.
After 37 km of running the Col de Chaude is the third refreshment post of MXALPS. It is located between Les Rochers de Naye and Pertuis d’Aveneyre
It offers panoramic views on the Lake Geneva. It is easily accessible and a good starting point for the walks in the Gorges du Chauderon and many other alpine walks.
Located 1.3 km from the Auberge de Sonchaux and with a breathtaking view of Lake Geneva, the refreshment post of Plan la Goille is a must see during the MXALPS race.
This refreshment spot is located at the top of the stairs of the belvédère su Cubly.
It is located between the Cape au Moine and the Dent de Jaman, a must-see place with a splendid view of Lake Geneva and the foothills of the Alps. The road is narrow, beware of crossings.
This refreshment spot is located next to the Auberge de la Cergniaulaz. We advise you to go there early (before 9am for the MXALPS, before 11am for the MXSKY). Be careful, a small part of the road will be used by the runners.
What to do around there? The runners will go through the old town of Montreux, a charming place with cafés and old houses. You will be surprised by this other view of Montreux.
What to do around there? After seeing the runners pass by at the Col de Chaude, you can meet them at the Sonchaux refreshment post.
Attention : there’s no refreshment post for the audience at the Col de Chaude.
What to do around there? In addition to the many walks, a typical restaurant, the Cuckoo Clock will allow you to refresh yourself and enjoy an exceptional setting.A beer & sausage at CHF 10 will be offered to all accompanying persons.
What to do around there?Eat a homemade pie at the Auberge de Sonchaux before going up to Plan la Goille to encourage the runners and see the paragliders taking off.
What to do around there?Venez admirer un magnifique Come and admire a magnificent panorama view on the Riviera as well as on the whole Lake Geneva. And enjoy a refreshing moment at 1157 m.
What to do around there?A superb hike allows you to reach the sumptuous Dent de Jaman in about 1 hour. A great experience while waiting for the runners or after their passage! There’s a possibility to treat yourself with mountain specialities at the restaurant Le Manoïre (reservation recommended: 021 964 63 30).
What to do around there?Quench your thirst and enjoy the market cuisine of the charming Auberge de la Cergniaulaz, while encouraging the runners.

From Montreux, the cogwheel train brings you to Les Rochers-de-Naye (2042 m) in 55 minutes, passing from the shores of Lake Geneva to the picturesque mountain landscapes. The little train reveals dazzling views when travelling along the mountains.
Don’t miss Alejandro Reyes’ concert at Les Rochers-de-Naye at 1pm..
Go hiking in one of the most beautiful landscapes in Switzerland: the terraced vineyards of Lavaux. Vineyards are a part of UNESCO heritage. Offer yourself stunning views when waking the small paths and visiting typical wine-growing villages. After your efforts on the MX Trail, find your own pace by taking small-wheeled trains or simply walking and enjoying.
A popular celebration, the Fête des Vignerons has been organised since the 18th century by the Confrérie des Vignerons. The primary purpose of this centuries-old event is to encourage and promote the cultivation of the grapevine, particularly in Lavaux UNESCO. Located on the Place du Marché in Vevey, it takes place only four times a century!
Overlooking Lake Geneva, the Olympic Museum of Lausanne, the headquarters of the Olympic movement, will take you on a journey back in time. You will discover vibrant exhibitions and the interactivity of the place will allow young and less young to find their pleasure.
Le Coucou Hôtel & Restaurant is a traditional Swiss chalet located at an altitude of 1150m in Caux/Montreux. Renowned for its high altitude restau-rant, its terrace with panoramic views over Lake Geneva and the Alps and its seven unique rooms, all unique and made of old wood. Le Coucou has been completely renovated using materials from alpine farms several hundred years old.

THANK YOU!
This third edition, created from scratch by a team of 100% volunteer enthusiasts,
was only possible with the trust shown by the municipalities of Montreux, Veytaux,
Villeneuve. We extend our gratitude to the unconditional support of the village of
Les Avants as the organisation of trail races becomes more and more competitive.
We thank immensely to the Canton of Vaud to support our ideas to promote
various municipalities in addition to showcasing our magnificent region as a whole.
We dedicate special thank you words to the three municipalities our event
passes through and their invaluable logistical support. The immense interest for
this «100% vaudois trail race» as well as the originality of specific race formats
is reflected in the enthusiasm of companies and institutions that have followed
«our little grain of madness» and supported us from the very beginning of the
organisation of this event. We want to thank: Montreux Vevey Tourisme as well
the Commune of Montreux, the MOB, Compressport, Energiapro, Migros Vaud,
Isostar, Prodio Light and QoQa.
Of course, we could not finish these words without thanking wholeheartedly to our
volunteers who work behind the scenes or in the spotlight to make this event a real
success. It is thanks to their availability and energy behind that the Montreux Trail
Festival has been made possible.
YOU ROCK! THANK Y’ALL!
ENJOY 2019 AND
SEE YOU NEXT YEAR,
JULY 24-26, 2020.
