The democratic revolution belongs to all of us.

In Guanyem Barcelona, we believe that all citizens have the right to full participation in society, whatever our country of birth. We are all Barcelona, and we all have an equal right to make decisions about everything that affects us, from municipal to state level. That’s why we’ll do everything we can to push for the extension of the right to vote for all of us who don’t yet have it, and to ensure that those of us who already do can exercise it. As our friends in Partido X have shown http://partidox.org/voto-extranjero-2015/, tricks are being played that make it more difficult for Barcelonians of foreign nationality to exercise our right to vote in the municipal elections. Of the many citizens who don’t have Spanish nationality, some of us do have the right to vote, but we are forced to go through an extra bureaucratic process in order to exercise this right. This is yet further proof that this system, which claims to be democratic, excludes one in five people of this city for the sole reason that we weren’t born here. We absolutely
