05 Brief Report Robo Race is always the prime competition of the robotics and also among the engineering students. To make the Race track the volunteers had put their maximum efforts, they had used cement blocks to make the track above the ground, the used motors and convener belt to increase the difficulty and also used broken bottles and wooden ply to make the track more eye catching and difficult. Maximum participation was in the Robo Race. So volunteers had worked till late evening to complete the 1st round of the event. On the 2nd day qualified students again did the racing but this time the difficulty was increased compare to the 1st round by introducing the sloped cement track covered with the grass which makes it a sleeper track. Also in the 2nd round some Bonus point was introduced which was placed outside the track and had a highest difficult.

Marvelous response was reflected in rising technocrats for this event when it was restructured with the aids of surveying. Event volunteers had cheered up the participants to complete the task within time limit. In this event different surveying instruments like Compass, dumpy level, plane table, ranging rod, staff were used as clues. All the instruments were properly labeled with numbers. The clues were based on mathematical equation, use of instrument, concept of surveying etc. Three set up were arranged and three team had performed parallel. With the help of first clue, each team had decided which one was their first instrument. One team had used compass, second had performed with dumpy level and third had solved clue by plane table. Each team had used all three instruments in rotation one by one. As a conclusion overall event was fibulas and fruitful.

01 Description of event
This event comprised of making a model representing a retaining wall to retain the sand filled behind it. The participants were provided with the materials to make their model. The dimensions of retaining wall were specified as Minimum height should be 25 cm. There were total 55 entries giving 55 different designs of retaining wall. The model was tested by placing it in front of the opening of a box. The sand was filled gradually in the box. With increase in the height of sand in the box, the pressure on the wall also increases. The filling of sand was stopped when displacement of model or deflection of wall was noticed. The winning criterion was considered on the ratio of the self weight of model to the weight of sand retained behind. Displacement limit were decided by jury member as 5 mm.

1. No outer material can be used for the model. 2. Time for making a model is 1hr. 3. Specifications will be given on the spot. 4. Thermocol sheet, pin, cutter and cello tape will be provided. 5. The shape of retaining wall and self-weight of retaining
wall will to be decided by the participants. 6. The load carrying capacity of retaining structure will be
evaluated by filling sand behind wall. 05 Brief Report The concept of retaining structures is basically a subject of Geo-
tech engineering but this event mainly comprised the concept of making a model which can retain sand behind it. Participants had put their efforts for making innovative and effective model by adopting all possible means. As the main material in the model - Thermocol is very light weight, it alone cannot resist the sand and thus allowance to use sand in the model was given. Participants filled sand in their model up to the 1/3rd height from bottom to increase the retaining capacity of model. One hour given to prepare the model and then after initial weight of the model was carried out. Winners were selected based on the ratio of weight of structure to the weight of sand retained by the structure. Prof.Nirav Umravia from CKPCET, Surat and Er. Nehal Desai from Unique Laboratory, Suratwere invited as a jury member for this event. After the competition, many students perceived the
