H0MK TALENT CONCERT. < >11 Wednesday evening September Kith, a home talent concert will be presented by the organ committee at the Lutheran church. This is a fourth iif a series of concerts under Lhe auspices' of this committee for the purpose of raising money to pay for the organ, and In offering this concert tu Lhe people of Canlun, we have no apologies to make. It lias been our aim to always provide high grade tal- ent for our concerts and we believe that the concensus of opinion is that we have been successful. Also in this case we feel that we have secured talent that will make good and for whom no excuses will have to be made. Being of the opinion that con- certs of a good quality are a distinct beuedt to a community in the way of promoting a taste and appreciation for really good music, the committee asks the patronage ot the public on the ground of self interest and not as a charitable donation to the organ fund. We are prepared to ivoder v:»I - ue received. The concert will lie sutliciently varied in nature to suit the must, ex- acting. There will be several piano numbers by Miss I'.ilm.i Anderson, and Mrs. Adolph Hragstad will assist with one of her excellent readings. In addition there will be a violin number by Mrs. G. II. Gulbraudsen and a vocal number by Mr. Aden Haug. The Schubert, yuarlette will appear with -^veral selections. The committee does not claim to have assembled a company of world- renowned artists, but we do claim that these people are the best in their respective specialties that can be pro- duced iu Canton, and that they are equal to a large part of the profes- sional talent that comes to this city aud superior to many companies that have entertained here. It is not nec- essary to enlarge upon the Individual merits of each member of this com- pany as all are too well and favorably known to need an introduction to a (.Janton audience. A s several of them will leave the city in the near future, this will be the only opportunity to hear them in concert fur a long time. Everybody is cordially invited t-oavail themselves of this musical treat. See next week's Issue of this paper for the program printed In full. Miss Marie Engeu is home from her visiL witli relatives in Wisconsin. Charles F. Whltmore is home from his iilack Hills visit, where he went to attend a meeting of engineers. Donald Voges, son ol Mr. and Mrs. Charles Voge3 of Big Timber, Mont., and a nephew of Mrs. E. L. Wendt has arrived to attend school and will make his home with Mr. and Mrs. Wendt. He lsU bright buy. < >11 Wednesday evening September Kith, a home ta lent concert wi l l be presented by the organ committee at the Lutheran church. This i s a fourth i i f a ser ies of concerts under Lhe auspices ' of th is committee for the purpose of ra is ing money to pay for the organ, and In of fer ing this concert tu Lhe people of Canlun, we have no apologies to make. I t l ias been our a im to a lways provide high grade ta l ent for our concerts and we bel ieve that the concensus of opinion is that we have been successful . Also in th is case we fee l that we have secured ta lent that wi l l make good and for whom no excuses wi l l have to be made. Being of the opinion that concerts of a good qual i ty are a dis t inct beuedt to a community in the way of promoting a taste and appreciat ion for real ly good music , the committee asks the patronage ot the publ ic on the ground of se l f interest and not as a chari table donat ion to the organ fund. We are prepared to ivoder v:»I -ue received.

The concert wi l l l ie sut l ic ient ly varied in nature to sui t the mus t , exact ing. There wi l l be several p iano numbers by Miss I ' . i lm. i Anderson, and Mrs. Adolph Hragstad wi l l ass is t with one of her excel lent readings . In addit ion there wi l l be a vio l in number by Mrs. G. II . Gulbraudsen and a vocal number by Mr. Aden Haug. The Schubert , yuarlet te wi l l appear with -^veral se lect ions .

The committee does not c la im to have assembled a company of world-renowned art is ts , but we do c la im that these people are the best in their respect ive specia l t ies that can be produced iu Canton, and that they are equal to a large part of the profess ional ta lent that comes to this c i ty aud superior to many companies that have entertained here . I t i s not necessary to enlarge upon the Individual meri ts of each member of th is company as a l l are too wel l and favorably known to need an introduct ion to a ( .Janton audience . A s several of them wil l leave the c i ty in the near future , th is wi l l be the only opportunity to hear them in concert f u r a long t ime. Everybody i s cordial ly invi ted t -oavai l themselves of th is musical treat . See next week's Issue of th is paper for the program printed In ful l .
