Summary of performed GSM-R Certifications and related Activities All GSM-R Cab radios used in Europe today are certified ”against” EIRENE

FRS version 7, SRS version 15 (EIRENE 7/15) Since the upcoming new EIRENE 7.3.0/15.3.0 does not contain any new

requirements Mandatory for Interoperability (MI) alredy achieved certificationsshould remain valide

However the new Interoperability Constituent EDOR will need to be certifiedp y Entire or only part of the sub-system GSM-R Track-side in some countries

Conclusions

There are major cost savings to be achieved and delays to be avoidedby adhering ”pragmatically” to European legislation

Benchmark against Railways already endorsing Cross Acceptance

Furthermore a strong centralized pan European GSM-R validation willFurthermore a strong, centralized, pan European GSM R validation willeven more improve the quality of GSM-R track-side and on-board –resulting in improved Railway Operation for Passengers and Cargo and lower OPEXlower OPEX

The TSI is no easy lecture – a GSM-R Certification/AssessmentG id li hi h t ” t i htf d” d t i l t thGuideline, which suggests a ”straightforward” procedure to implement the legal text of the TSI could be considered.
