WORK FOR US Be the volunteers for The Institution of Engineers (India) and earn satisfaction of doing pub-
lic good. You may spread the message and knowledge about The IEI and its activities and
how it benefits the member engineers in their professional development, at the place where
you work, within your engineering friend circle and around the area where you reside. You
may visit nearby engineering colleges in your district, meet the faculty members and moti-
vate them to join us. You may meet the engineers working with industries in nearby area or
within your district and prepare them to be our members. Your efforts would provide multi-
plier effect in the society as more and more senior as well as junior engineers turn towards
their professional development through our programs, interaction with experts and publica-
tions. Let us join hands for better world, better tomorrow.
We will provide you necessary material to be distributed and also guide you in person about
motivating the engineers. Contact us at [email protected].
Member bringing in 50 or more member would be rewarded (See Page 9 for more

National Energy Conservation Day is celebrated every year using particular theme of the year by keeping in mind some goals and objectives to make more effective all over the country among people. Some of the important goals are:
To send the message of impor-tance of conserving energy in the every walk of life among people. To promote the way of process of energy conservation by organiz-ing a lot of events such as discus-sions, conferences, debates, workshops, competitions and etc all throughout the country. To encourage people for less en-ergy usage by minimizing the ex-cessive and wasteful use. To encourage people for efficient energy use in order to decrease the energy consumption and pre-vent the energy loss.
Energy Conservation Day was cele-brated by Gujarat State Center on 14th December 2015 at Bhaikaka Bahavan Ahmedabad. The program was webcast live on Google Hangout and was watched by participants from all over the country. Theme speaker was Mr. Uresh Mehta, Immediate past Chairman & retired Chief Engineer (Electrical) & Additional Secretary, Government of Gujarat. Speaking at the occasion he informed that National Energy Conservation Day is celebrated every year by the people all over India on 14th of December. The Energy Conservation Act in India was executed by the Bureau of Energy Effi-ciency (BEE) in the year 2001. The Bu-reau of Energy Efficiency is a constitu-tional body under the administrative control of Government of India and it helps in the development of policies and strategies in order to reduce the use of energy. He further stated that

He appealed the participants to be En-ergy Smart and said that Energy saved means Money saved. He explained this by his own experiment at Government Secretariat where the measures taken by him towards energy conservation resulted in huge saving of money to the State exchequer. He also made a pres-entation in this regards. Presentation on Energy Conservation can be viewed by clicking at following links: http://www.slideshare.net/IEIGSC/energy-conservation-in-sachivalaya-part-1 http://www.slideshare.net/IEIGSC/
Each and every citizens of India must be made aware about how to use energy efficiently, about how to save the en-ergy for their own future safety etc. They should follow all the rules, regula-tions and policies implemented by the Government of India in order to support the energy efficiency. Citizens of India can pay their direct contribution to the campaign to reduce energy use throughout the 11th Five Year Plan pe-riod. Children are the big expectation and hope of the country to bring posi-tive changes as well as to enhance the economic condition of the country. He then made a brief presentation on how & why energy is to be conserved.
