Line Outs

• Maul and Drive. If the ball is spun to Frans expect a crash ball from IC, OC or WW

• 5-man. Force them to defend 3 phases. IC will assist in Phase 2. WW in Phase 3. Frans will decide kick, bang , or spin after phase 3.

• Options. Vary your looks.

Line Outs• Mule makes ALL calls• 2nd number = hot number. • Ex. “425” = 2 jumper ; “Kobe 24” = 4 jumper; 4 Hacksaw 28 = 2 jumper

• Buffalo = Maul. Commit to that muthafu$@! and move that gain line forward• Flying objects = Off the top (frisbee, plane, baggo)• 4-Man = Alan, Ryan, Tatts, Mule

Keys to successful Line Out play• Take the initiative. Force them to overcome momentum. Exert maximum effort at the outset of the line-out.• Get the ball moving. The ball is either moving forward quickly through a successful maul or it is sexy. • Defensive corollary = Make their ball ugly and unattractive. Slow their ball down. Force them to alter their game plan and commit more men to secure their fat ugly ball. Get their point of contact moving sideways.
