Welcome to your latest Groups’ newsletter.

We hope you find lots of useful information enclosed that will help you organise a group booking with us – whether it’s highlighting some of the latest shows to go on sale, a reminder of where your coach can drop you off and pick you up from or just to flag up some of the other things you can do in the area when you pay us a visit.

Make sure you put 3 April in your diary. This is when tickets go on sale for the brand new musical The Band. Featuring the music of Take That, it’s certain to be a hit with your groups. Visit our website for further information.

Schools Performance

We’ve got the perfect opportunity for you and your school group to witness this new musical drama in our special Schools Performance on Tuesday 21 November 2017 at 11am. Book 20 or more tickets and enjoy something especially for you: now available on the majority of our shows at the Centre.If you can persuade 19 or more people to join you on your theatre trip, you will qualify for a free ticket to see the show yourself, plus some vouchers for a complimentary cup of tea or coffee and an interval ice-cream as a reward for all your hard work.**

You can use the voucher in our ice cream parlour and coffee shop, Hufen and the ice cream voucher just needs to be redeemed with a Visitor Services Assistant or in our foyer bars on levels 2, 4 and 5. If you’re not sure where Hufen is, we’ve marked it on the diagram in the centre pages of the newsletter.

We want to make sure you arrive at the Centre feeling totally comfortable and at ease. So here are a few questions we’ve had recently that may help you:

How do I get the groups discount in the restaurant?Contact our Group Sales team to book your reservation and pay in full prior to attending (subject to payment date) to receive discount in our restaurant. Please note that the groups discount is not applicable on £5 deposits or through the restaurant direct.

Where can the coach park whilst we are in the Centre?There is a drop off/pick up point just outside our main doors and coach parking is located along Lloyd George Avenue, Pierhead Street and Bute Place at the back of the Centre.

How to get here

From the West:1. Use Junction 33 of M4, then take the third exit

and follow the dual carriageway until you reach the Bute Tunnel.

2. On exiting the tunnel, follow signs to the National Assembly of Wales which will bring you along Pierhead Street.

3. Turn right on to Bute Place and the Centre is directly to your left.

From the East:1. Use Junction 29 of M4 and follow the A48M.

2. Take the exit marked ‘The Docks’ and then follow the brown signs for Wales Millennium Centre (sometimes indicated by the comedy and drama masks symbol).

Where to ParkFree coach parking is available on a ‘first come first served’ basis along Bute Place, right alongside the Centre. There are also several car parks in the surrounding area – see the map for guidance, or ask one of our Group Sales Team for more details.

Set Down PointsCoaches and mini-buses can drop off and pick up passengers just outside our main doors at the bus stop and lay-by marked on the map above.

Group Tours

Why not extend your visit with us by booking a Group Tour? Giving you an exclusive look behind the scenes at the Centre, it’s a great way to make your experience much more memorable.

By booking a group tour alongside a show, you will benefit from the discounted rate of £4 per person (usually £5 per person for groups of 10+). For more information, please ask your Group Sales contact.

Accommodation

If you’re planning to stay overnight, get in touch with our preferred hotel partner Future Inn, Cardiff Bay. They’re only a short walk away from us, so it’s a really convenient place to stay. Ask your Group Sales contact for more information when booking or visit futureinns.co.uk where you’ll find more details on the hotel.

Cardiff International Food and Drink Festival

The free food and drink festival of the summer takes place in Cardiff Bay, from 14 – 16 July. With over 100 local, national and international producers, visitors can explore a variety of stalls at the Producer’s Fayre, tantalise their taste buds with the delicious samples on offer and buy a variety of food and drink.

Poppies: Weeping Window will be at the Senedd from 5 August – 25 September 2017. The installation was originally seen pouring from a high window to the ground below at the Tower of London as part of the installation Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red.
