Hydropower

For our renewable energy source we have picked hydropower.

Advantages:

The electricity can be produced at a constant rate

The dam doesn’t need electricity

The dam can shut which can save the amount of water used

Reason 1

It would be easy to access water because the city is located between two merging rivers. Since the rivers are so close we could easily access the power.

Reason 2

The precipitation is steady throughout the year. Because of this the source of energy would stay steady.

Coal

For our non- renewable energy source we picked coal.

Advantages:

Relatively cheap

Easy to use

Easier and safer to transport

Reason 1

Our first reason for choosing coal is because coal is relatively cheap. It is not as expensive as the other energy sources, would cost the city less money if they bought it.

Reason 2

The second reason for choosing coal is because there are a lot of coal deposits in Pennsylvania. It would be very easy to access and very close.
