Volunteer Opportunities
Summit County Juvenile Court is always seeking civic minded volunteers to support efforts being made to improve the lives of court involved youth and families. For more information on the volunteer opportunities shown below call 330-643-2939. Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) are
trained volunteers, appointed by judges/magistrates to advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children being served by the juvenile justice system.
Juvenile Detention Alternatives Initiative is one of the
nation’s most effective, influential and widespread juvenile justice reform movements. Volunteers connected with this initiative concentrate on reducing the unnecessary confinement of area youth.
Summit County Juvenile Court High School Advisory
Board provides the court with input from local high school students on matters confronting young adults throughout the community.
Summit County Juvenile Court Teen Court is a
diversionary program that provides area youth with exposure to the juvenile justice process.
The Women’s Board to the Summit County Juvenile
Court provides vital financial support to court-involved families and volunteer services to the court’s operation. Members particularly focus efforts on delivering supportive programming to youth held in the Summit County Juvenile Detention Center.

The Summit County Juvenile Court Speakers Bureau is a community outreach and education program that matches experienced and knowledgeable court representatives with civic groups who are eager to learn more about various aspects of juvenile justice. Members of the speakers bureau have been trained to facilitate informative and stimulating presentations on numerous topics, all of which are outlined in this brochure.
