As a group we will be producing an online interactive website that will focus on the creative arts scene of Hull. This will report on events, music venues, local artists, new artists and other elements relating to Hull’s scene of culture and art. Currently, the idea stands with us representing the ‘Top 10’ events taking place in the city each month consisting of film, theatre, music, comedy, art and exhibitions. We hope to further the audiences enjoyment of the site by including embedded media such as videos and pictures as well as links to our own online personal portfolios.

ResearchResearch So far we have collated research on the major venues

within the city.

These include: Hull City Hall, Albemarle Music Centre, Fruit-Space, Hull New Theatre, KC Stadium, Hull Truck Theatre, The Deep, Ferens Art Gallery, Guildhall Collection, Hands on History Museum, Hull and East Riding Museum, Hull History Centre, Hull Maritime Museum, Spurn Lightship, Streetlife Museum and Wilberforce House.

We shall be looking at both one off shows and regular events taking place at these venues as well as annual events such as the Jazz and Comedy Festivals and the Clipper Yacht Race.

• We would have to take into account seasonal changes

• The title is not set in stone at time of coming up with the idea

• We have decided to concentrate on the best of each category as research showed that there are not 10 of each happening at the same time

• During festive season there would probably be 10 pantomimes on at the same time

• Adjustments will be required to the site accordingly

WixWixWix was founded in New York – in 2006 – several workers from Microsoft helped to develop it

Several versions of Wix have been developed – The current version of Wix is 3.5, it was launched about a year ago.

Wix is software which allows users the ability to create Flash – based websites through the use of a user friendly interface using simple drag and drop tools.

Wix offers many tools some of which will be useful in creating our website, it offers customising of design elements such as colour, fonts and layout. It also allows Youtube videos, audio and images to be incorporated into the website. Best of all Wix is free to use but, a subscription version is also available which has more advanced features and allows you to make your own personal URL address.

In brief Wix combines a user friendly interface, but with modern website elements such as videos and animation.
