ASSIGNMENT QUESTION:

Feasibility Analysis / Feasibility Study

You and your group have been appointed as consultants and your services are being sought by one potential entrepreneur by the name of Sally, who is thinking which exciting business opportunities she should pursue and hope

to select the one that has the best chance of succeeding. However she is wise enough to seek your help to assist her to

come up with a feasibility study so as to be able to decide which of the business opportunities to pursue.

Sally’s background:

She has been working for several years with global multinational companies across three different industries such as an Operations Manager in a global fast-food chain, as Group HR Executive in a large local conglomerate and as a

Content Writer for an established online portal relating to management and business issues. One morning Sally woke

up with the previous night’s dream still fresh in her mind. She had dreamt of a new, even unique way of doing a business and with great enthusiasm she decided to prepare to start her business venture.

Sally is considering one of these business opportunities which are related in one way or another to her vast work

experiences:

A. Recruitment Or executive search business Or any consultancy business related to Human Resources,

B. A business catering to retirees OR

C. An e-commerce business OR

D. Your very own unique business idea

Group Assignment:

1. Choose only one of the above-listed four options to carry out a feasibility study for Sally. Imagine you are

Sally and try to come up with what you think would be Sally’s dream of a new and unique way of doing a

business. Be creative but be realistic too. If you select D then you need to convince Sally why it is a better choice than A, B, or C.

2. You are allowed to make certain assumptions.

3. Briefly explain why your group chose this particular business opportunity instead of the other three. 4. Explain succinctly your feasibility study according to the various areas as suggested

5. Your conclusion is to recommend Sally to choose this particular business instead of the other three

opportunities based on your feasibility study that your group has done to support your recommendation.

Guidelines:

You are encouraged to refer to your recommended textbook (Barringer and Ireland,2012, Entrepreneurship

Successfully Launching New Ventures, 4th ed, Prentice Hall,p80)
