INTRODUCTION
This report summarizes the results of a geophysics program' of
ground magnetometer and VLF-EM surveys run on the property to determine
geological contacts and conductive zones of mineralization, shearing
or faulting.
LOCATION AND ACCESS
The Aurelian property is located approximately 15 miles east
of the town of Missinabie and five miles south of the Renabie Mine in
Brackin Township. Brackin Township is in the District of Sudbury,
Porcupine Mining Division, Ontario.
Access to the property is gained by the Renabie Mine road and
an unmaintained gravel road leading south from Renabie to Crooked Lake.
A boat should be used to get to the south east arm of the lake where
an old overgrown road may be followed on foot or part of an existing
grid may be used to acquire access.
PROPERTY
The Aurelian-Brackin property consists of HO contiguous,
unpatented claims. Sixteen complete claims were covered by the two
surveys.
The claims covered by the surveys are:
P722398 - 408 inclusive 11
P780070 - 072 inclusive 3
P780064 l
P779809 l
See Figure I for property boundary.
(2)
PREVIOUS WORK
There has been no previous exploration work done on the property.
Government reconnaissance mapping of Rennie, Lesson, Stover
and Brackin townships took place between 1942 and 1944. A government
geological map and report released in 1978 covers Stover and Brackin
townships.
GENERAL GEOLOGY
The rocks of the area are all of Precambrian age. A southeast
to south trending belt of metavolcanics and metasediments had been intruded
by quartz-diorite covering almost two-thirds of Brackin Township. The
property is situated wholly in the quartz-diorite and is cut into thirds
by two northeast trending faults. There are also numerous diabase dikes
trending southeast with one leading northeast being intersected by another
dike. Dips in the formation vary from 50 degrees to 75 degrees southwest
with strikes varying from east-southeast to southeast. Gold may occur
in pyrite-bearing quartz veins.
SURVEY EQUIPMENT AND PROCEDURE
A total of 12.5 miles were surveyed by the geophysical equipment.
The grid was oriented N600E.
The Very Low Frequency Electromagnetic (VLF-EM) survey was
carried using a Geonics EM16 S utilizing the Annapolis, Maryland (NSS)
transmission station, transmitting at 19.0 KHz. Readings of In-phase
and Quadrature were taken every 100 feet with an accuracy of li.
The magnetic survey was conducted with a Geometrics G-816 total
field magnetometer. Readings were taken every 100 feet with the inter
sections of crosslines and baseline used as base stations, so that diurnal
drift could be monitored. This method allows readings to be taken and
corrected with an accuracy of one gamma.
(3)
SURVEY RESULTS
The VLF-EM detected several conductors, three of which may
delineate the contacts of diabase dikes. The conductors are marJsed A,
B, and C.
The magnetic survey does confirm the VLF conductors. The
magnetic survey results may better show the stratigraphic correlation
upon completion of a geological program.
RECOMMENDATIONS
PHASE I
All the VLF-EM conductors and magnetic anomalies should be
prospected to determine their true nature. A geological mapping and
sampling program should also be completed.
PHASE II
Following successful results from the geological program,
selected targets should be trenched and mapped in detail, accompanied
by stripping to determine litholigies and orientation of mineralization.

Notice of Intent
for Technical Reports
1985 05 07
2.7901/108/85
An examination of your survey report indicates that the requirements of The Ontario Mining Act have not been fully met to warrant maximum assessment work credits. This notice is merely a warning that you will not be allowed the number of assessment work days credits that you expected and also that in approximately 15 days from the above date, the mining recorder will be authorized to change the entries on his record sheets to agree with the enclosed statement. Please note that until such time as the recorder actually changes the entry on the record sheet, the status of the claim remains unchanged.
If you are of the opinion that these changes by the mining recorder will jeopardize your claims, you may during the next fifteen days apply to the Mining and Lands Commissioner for an extension of time. Abstracts should be sent with your application.
If the reduced rate of credits does pot jeopardize the status of the claims then you need not seek relief from the Mining and Lands Commissioner and this Notice of Intent may be disregarded.
If your survey was submitted and assessed under the "Special Provision-Performance and Coverage" method and you are of the-opinion that a re-appraisal under the "Man-days" method would result in the approval of a greater number of days credit per claim, you may, within the said fifteen day period, submit assessment work breakdowns listing the employees names, addresses and the dates and hours they worked. The new work breakdowns should be submitted direct to the Land Management Branch, Toronto. The report will be re-assessed and a new statement of credits based on actual days worked will be issued.
