Our community members and leaders will be joining us as we celebrate this exciting milestone in our community. When children are removed from their homes out of concern for their welfare, they are usually brought to the Department of Children’s Services Offices to await placement with a Foster family. This wait can be several hours to nearly a full day. These children often have nothing with them and are scared, lonely, hungry, and often in dirty clothing. Isaiah117 provides a comforting home where these children instead can be brought to wait – a place that is safe with friendly and loving volunteers who provide clean clothes, smiles, toys, and snuggly blankets. This space allows children to receive the comfort and care they need while DCS staff are able to do the necessary paperwork and identify a good foster placement. We are excited to bring this ministry to the children of Blount County. The Forest Hill File

Welcome Samuel (Sam) and Sharon Harmon! Samuel (Sam) and Sharon Harmon have been attending Forest Hill Baptist Church for over a

year now. Originally reached through the neighborhood steak and shrimp dinner, they found

our church to be family friendly. Also,

they were impressed with the love for each

other that they saw in our members. I

believe the Bible tells us that is how people

will know we are Christians—by our love.

This really speaks well of our church

family. And, of course, we all love Sam,

Sharon, and Robert.

Sharon was baptized in Hawaii, and

Sam was baptized here at Forest Hill on

April 14 by a pastor friend from Pilgrim

Baptist Church. They have felt like family

for a long time, but they finally made it

official by joining December 15. Even

before joining, they jumped right in,

helping with many activities. Thanks to

them for all they do. What a great addition

to our church!

They both went to Heritage High

School. Now they enjoy just being

together as family. And Sam loves fishing.

This is definitely something he has in

common with some of our other members.
