Technical Cooperation
• Under a Technical Cooperation Agreement, Airservices Australia is working closely with the FAA to achieve GBAS Category I certification by the end of Calendar Year 2008
• Airservices Australia is partially funding technical support to the FAA.
• This relationship between the FAA and Airservices has seen the program moving forward and is greatly appreciated
• Mr Leo Eldredge deserves special mention for his foresight in putting this technical cooperation together

• A single GBAS ground station provides precision approach paths to all runway ends
• Certification of one GBAS manufacturer (Honeywell) by the end of 2008
• Airborne equipage rate increasing• Benefit quantification specific to each operational environment• Pre certification systems in operational use at Sydney Australia
(Qantas), Bremen Germany (TUIfly) and Guam (Continental Air Micronesia)
• There are four known manufacturers of GBAS (Companies in the USA; USA/Denmark; France; Russia)
