Voters flowed in and out of the Ward 2 poll at the Ice Palace Monday afternoon.

Here's some of the comments The Advocate got

when doing exit polls.

Resident Kent Hill hinted he is happy with the

person in charge at the civic centre. He said he

voted for the person, "based on past knowledge of what they've done. I'm pretty happy with the

way things are now. I don't think Keswick

needs any radical changes or anything like

that."

"I voted for the returning mayor (Rob Grossi). I

didn't think any of the other people running

were qualified. None of the people running

other than Mr. Grossi has even worked in

council before. They were all fresh and running. I think they need to gain experience before

running for the top job of mayor. I think Mr.

Grossi will say, 'no' when no is required and he

treats people fair. In my book, he's the person that needs to be back in that position," said Wayne Andrews.

While Renie Zentai didn't reveal her choice for mayor, she said she was happy with the voting setup.

"I had a great experience today at the Ice Palace. Very quick and simple. I voted for people I know and trust in

each of the four categories. A combination of people I know personally and people coming to my door to speak

to me," Ms Zentai said.

Duncan Mcfadyen voted for Mr. Grossi. "He's done a good job so far and I think he's probably the best man for

the job."

Like father, like daughter: Nicole Mcfayden voted for Mr. Grossi "for the same reasons as my dad".

Donna Whittle thought the poll where she voted was well organized. "Everything went very quick and smooth."

How did she base her vote? "I missed the mayoral debate because of my two small children and they held it at

bedtime. "However, I did read the (election section) in The Advocate and all the questions. That really helped

me make my decision."

Leanne Glover said if you don't cast a ballot, "obviously you have no grounds to complain afterwards".

Voter Robert Healey said the town needs a shake up.

"We need a change in Georgina. We need to get rid of the old blood at the civic centre; Get some new ideas in

there and a new foundation to our town. I am not happy with the development, taxes, recreational stuff for the

children. All of that stuff."

Dan Peters is born and raised in Keswick. "I didn't have much choice for my vote today. There's a few running,

but more in the wards. In the high spots where (Regional Councillor Danny) Wheeler and (Mayor Rob) Grossi

are running, there's not much of a choice but we need some younger blood in the office."

Marilyn Peters was straightforward. "I voted for Grossi. I want to see him continue what he's doing with the

projects that are currently under way."

Amy Duncan was not too revealing in her choice. "I think the person I voted for has the best stand on what I'm looking for."

Andrew Hodder said he voted for the person he thinks will best address a good mix of the issues he thinks need

to be addressed. "I'd like to see sports and recreation and tourism boosted and acknowledged here. Instead of just getting pushed aside and given to a private enterprise. I understand that the area needs to grow though, so

it's just about finding a good mix."
