GRINZINGER GEMISCHTER SATZ „GLOCKENTURM” 2015 The eight rows on the gravelly eastern slope in the Mukenthal vineyard near Grinzing turned out to be a jackpot in 2015: As soon as the late afternoon heat tortured the south-west slopes with a witty 40 degrees Celsius, the small, deep-lying pebbles in the Mukenthal - already in the shade at this time of day - gave off initial coolness to the 44 year-old vines. The yearned for wind from the Vienna Woods then routinely crept over the Kahlenberg into the Mukenthal and gave this special place pleasant evening hours and, much more importantly, cool nights. This allowed the ten grape varieties to do their bit and create a toasty, almost resinous Gemischter Satz with the aroma of red forest fruits, edge of the forest herbs, foliage and yellow fruits.
