GRINZINGER GEMISCHTER SATZ „GLOCKENTURM” 2015

The eight rows on the gravelly eastern slope inthe Mukenthal vineyard near Grinzing turned outto be a jackpot in 2015: As soon as the lateafternoon heat tortured the south-west slopeswith a witty 40 degrees Celsius, the small,deep-lying pebbles in the Mukenthal - already inthe shade at this time of day - gave off initialcoolness to the 44 year-old vines. The yearned for wind from the Vienna Woods thenroutinely crept over the Kahlenberg into theMukenthal and gave this special place pleasantevening hours and, much more importantly, coolnights. This allowed the ten grape varieties todo their bit and create a toasty, almostresinous Gemischter Satz with the aroma of redforest fruits, edge of the forest herbs, foliageand yellow fruits. Maiwipferl meets LotteTobisch, biting into quince jelly.13 ABV
