LAND SURVEY

GRIDSCAN is now established as of March 2014, joining the ranks of those private companies, proudly contributing to the various development activities in the State of Qatar.

Topographical Surveys

Provision of detailed, large-scale survey data of your project site, be it a modest-sized plot for residential, industrial or commercial purposes.

Our surveys would include all cultural- & physical-attributes, spot height data & contoured to an agreed standard.

Our finished data would be presented in hard- & soft-copy, typically AutoCAD - to our clients specifications.

Control Surveys

The basis of "good survey practice" is to carry out any type of survey using survey equipment appropriate to the required standards mthat such equipment is in good adjustment, and mthe surveyor is suitably skilled in the use of such equipment - and fully competent.

Establishment of new survey control would be carried out with high-end GPS equipment and/or total station instrumentation - depending upon the best solution mutually agreed between GRIDSCAN and the client.

GRIDSCAN would arrange for the construction of new survey monuments - either in terms of Government standards, or specific client requests.

"As-Built" (GIS) Surveys

Provision of "as-built" survey collection - typically as an on-going exercise during the construction phase, thereby ensuring that all attributes are accurately coordinated & collated.

Our surveys would include all cultural- & physical-attributes, all compiled in terms of client-specific requirements.

Our finished data would be presented in hard- & soft-copy, typically AutoCAD and to the required specifications.

11

Page 12: GRIDSCAN PROFILE 2017

LAND SURVEY

Route Surveys

Provision of detailed large-scale survey data within the proposed "corridor of survey". Survey to include all cultural- & physical-attributes.

Our drawings would include spot heights & contoured to an agreed standard - typically in plan & profile.

Where required, the proposed "design" route would be staked out in terms of client requirements.

Our final Survey Report would also include alignment drawings, on request.

Engineering & Setting-out of various engineering works

• infrastructure works (cable & transmission lines, water lines, storm-water & foul sewer lines - and other related structures,

for example reservoirs and treatment stations)

• road & rail alignment

• building sites

• bridge works

• pile locations

• geotechnical survey locations, etc) - to an agreed standard & accuracy of precision.

Our survey team would liaise closely with the client representative(s) to ensure that the accuracy & interpretation of design drawings, are accurately translated to the set-out positions.

Our Survey Report(s) would include sufficient, and clear proof that the agreed accuracies have been achieved.

Monitoring Surveys

To identify movement or deformation, using precise digital levels and high accuracy reflector-less total stations.

To map small changes in vertical movement, level & horizontal movement.

Examples include bridge works, soil stabilisation sites, historic buildings, retaining walls and landfill sites.

Geotechnical and Geophysical Investigations

Geotechnical investigations are performed by geotechnical engineers or engineering

geologists to obtain information on the physical properties of soil and rock around a site to

design earthworks and foundations for proposed structures and for repair of distress to

earthworks and structures caused by subsurface conditions.

Soil investigation

Soil investigation is obtaining data regarding the properties and characteristic of subsoil by

providing samples for testing or providing a means of access inspection. Soil investigation

involves the investigation at the surface and subsurface that acquiring all types of ground

information or data effecting design and construction of the project. It is carried out at early

of the building project(preliminary design stage).

Foundation

A building's foundation transmits loads from buildings and other structures to the earth.

Geotechnical engineers design foundations based on the load characteristics of the structure

and the properties of the soils and/or bedrock at the site. In general, geotechnical engineers:

• Estimate the magnitude and location of the loads to be supported.

• Develop an investigation plan to explore the subsurface.

• Determine necessary soil parameters through field and lab testing .

• Design the foundation in the safest and most economical manner.

Geophysical exploration

Geophysical methods are used in geotechnical investigations to evaluate a site's behavior in a

seismic event. By measuring a soil's shear wave velocity, the dynamic response of that soil can

be estimated.
