We(had(a(great(time(learning(about(

ourselves(and(how(we(can(help(our(

community(through(art.(With(the(leaders(

from(Thinking(Forward,(we(did(some(

activities(to(learn(about(ourselves.(One(of(

the(activities(we(did(was(writing(two(nice(

things(about(someone(in(your(class.(The(

people(who(you(would(be(writing(about(

would(be(randomly(chosen.(Another(

activity(was(to(learn(to(think(beyond(

yourself(by(thinking(about(your(

community.(Once(we(learned(about(

ourselves(and(each(other,(we(made(selfX

portraits.(The(selfXportraits(did(not(have(to(

look(exactly(like(us,(but(they(had(to(show(

who(we(are(as(positive(members(of(our(

community,(and(who(we(want(to(be!(At(

the(end(of(our(learning,(we(hosted(an(art(

show(where(students,(teachers,(and(

parents(could(come(see(our(work!(Some(of(

the(comments(I(heard(at(the(art(show(were(

“Great(job”(and(“Wow(I(love(your(art”.(At(

the(beginning(of(the(art(show,(students(

gave(a(short(speech(so(each(class(would(

understand(why(this(was(happening.(The(

art(show(went(smoothly,(and(all(of(the(

artists(were(proudly(standing(beside(their(

artwork(to(answer(any(questions.(Some(of(

the(children(had(comments(like(“It(was(

fun”,(and(“I(enjoyed(that(we(could(show(

our(true(skills”(and(“Yay!(I'm(glad(we(had(

the(art(show(because(it(was(awesome(and(

cool!”.(The(art(show(really(showed(hard(

work,(determination,(and(perseverance.(
