also be a speaker from the Rhode Island Council for the Humanities. Ms. Gloria-Jean Marscotte will be discussing “The Detective Novel: Who, What, When, Where and Why: the Literary and Social History of the Detective Novel” This program is free and open to the public, and funded in part by the RI Council for the Humanities and the National Endowment for the Humanities.

Let’s Celebrate Thanksgiving
Tuesday, November 14 at 4:00 pm for ages 6-11. Come to the library to hear some great Thanksgiving stories and then select a craft to make from a variety of Thanksgiving projects. Registration is required and
begins on November 1.
Thanksgiving Centerpiece
Wednesday, November 15 at 4:00 pm for ages 5-12. Create a wonderful centerpiece for your holiday table. This workshop is presented by the members of the Apple Blossom Garden Club. Sign up beginning November 1.
Girl Scout Trees
The Library’s lobby trees are decorated monthly with crafts made by Girl Scout Troop 544 under the direction of Mrs. Diane Maione and her daughter Tanya. Come by and take a look!
Greenville Nursery School Decorations
The bulletin boards and doorways in the Children’s Room display artwork made by the children at the Greenville Nursery School. Visit the Library to see how creative these young artists are.

Put some PEZzazz in your day and see the children’s room bubble display. Please come visit Nicholas Cerroni’s marvelous PEZ dispenser collection.

Learn to Knit
Mondays, November 6, 13, 20 and 27 from 4:00 -5:30 pm for ages 6 and older. Knitting
classes with Mrs. Junier continue for those children interested in making a holiday gift. Introductory classes were held in October. A $5.00 fee per class will be charged for the November classes. Participants must bring a pair of size 8-10 wooden needles and a skein of sport weight yarn in their favorite color. Each participant will decide on a specific project to complete.
Art Classes
Saturdays, November 25 and December 9 at 10:30 am for ages 6-10. Adele Karbowski, artist and teacher, will be presenting the second class in a series of one hour art classes held monthly. Registration is required and must be done in person. A $5.00 fee per class will be required at registration, which is now in progress. Learn

Smithfield All Stars Wednesdays at 4:00 pm. Tri-Town Community Action Agency in association with the East Smithfield Library and Greenville Public Library is offering this innovative co-educational program to 11 - 15 year old young adults. Ron Manni, the Prevention Specialist at Tri-Town will facilitate this program designed to reinforce positive qualities in youth. This program is sponsored by Neighborhood Health Plan of Rhode Island. Parents vs. Teens Jeopardy
Tuesday, November 28 at 6:30 pm. Teens are always accused of being know-it-alls. This is your chance to prove to your parents that you really do. The teams will be set up so the parents will be taking on their own teens in an exciting game of Jeopardy.
Turkey Pictionary Thursday, November 16 at 4:00 pm for ages 11- 17. Come to the Library to celebrate the approaching Thanksgiving holiday by playing Pictionary. Work to decipher Thanksgiving-theme clues being drawn by your friends. Please register soon.
Teen Reader’s Cafe Friday, November 24 at 4:00 pm for ages 11-17. We will be meeting to discuss Weetamoo, Heart of the Pocassets (from the Royal Diaries series) by Patricia Clark Smith. Come and discuss how the arrival of the Pilgrims affected the native peoples in the area as seen from the perspective of a future leader of the Pocasset people.
