GREENTREE NEWS AUGUST 2019 Volume 6, Issue 82 Editor: Barb Harter www.greentreeassociation.com On July 11, 2019, representing the Lake County Sheriff's Office, Bill Hilchey taught how to stop "life-threatening bleeding" at Trump National Doral Resort in Miami, Florida. During the annual summer conference of the Florida Association of School Resource Officers, (FASRO) Bill was invited to teach this important life-saving train- ing to over 100 of our School Resource Officers. This is the second year that Bill has been invited to FASRO to present "STOP THE BLEED," a course developed by the American College of Surgeons and the Department of Homeland Security. Bill volunteers with the Lake County Sheriff's Office as a Citizen On Patrol (COP) at least once a week. In addition to that service, he travels representing the Lake County Sheriff's Office, throughout Lake and surrounding counties in Florida teach- ing various groups and organizations "STOP THE BLEED." To date, Bill has trained over 1,000 people in Florida on how to stop life-threatening bleeding. Apart from the Sheriff's Office, Bill offers a CPR and AED course, representing the American Safety & Health Institute. Over 1,000 people in this area have taken CPR and AED from Bill.
